oh, thank for the info on breeder celect cat litter.
I think I will give it a try also when my corncob is finished. At the moment I am using only corncob as bedding for momo and changes it once a week. Sometimes, at the end of the week - her tank does smell too. |

QUOTE(missgeek @ Jan 15 2008, 01:16 PM) Hmm, 3 of my syrians are all babies and wild when I got them... I spend 1 hr (divided into few sessions) with each of them per day without failed (except that 2 nights I was gone to Singapore). That is why I am nocturnal too Congratulations on taming them! But Mokie and Miki are so fun to play with now! All my patience paid off Crazymouse said syrian don't do sand bath... but yeah u can try of course. Only Mofo doesnt smell! The 3 babies... smelly!!! I don't know why too... but I have a feeling it could be the 1.5feet tank I use. Only Mofo in 2feet tank... i think the bigger the space, the less the odour...? I am not upgrading their tank until they are fully grown so for now... I just need to bear with their smell and wash their house and wheels often... they peed inside it ALL THE TIMES. Sigh. I didn't know that syrian doesn't need sand bath. |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jan 15 2008, 03:35 PM) Well the 2 syrians I just put them in a small tank with bathing sand when we are cleaning their homes. Not together. Let them run around the tank and play with them about 10-15 mins. Blurjoey,Anyway JackJack doesn't smell much only Fumoffu. Not sure why but I think it is the 2 feet tank. Once open can smell all the dried pee smell. That is why we are mixing a few beddings together to hide the smell. JackJack is in ZooZone2 tank. Actually for GP, rabbits, and chins but using for syrian You can see the 3 tanks for the 4 hamsters we have. Is the jackjack's sanko wheel bigger than the safari one? I am looking a bigger wheel for my momo. |

QUOTE(d100200 @ Jan 15 2008, 03:45 PM) How to give them once a week? Leave the sand for 2 hours then remove from the cage? erm, i fill the bottom of a small tank with bathing sand and let her play with it while i clean her normal tank. It is just for a while. Once her tank is clean and tidy I will remove her from the smaller tank and put her inside her regular one again. I also put some sand in a small container inside her tank for toilet purposes. She usually peed on it and sometimes she digs the sand out. This is regularly replaced.Do I change the sand every time I clean the cage ? (I clean cage once a week) See the photo below. I found that they actually move some kuaci + wood shaving there and they shit there as well. This is suppose to be their bathing Den. After 1 day, cannot see the sand anymore. ![]() QUOTE(sOuLx @ Jan 15 2008, 03:52 PM) how much is the price for sanko wheel? Yes, safari wheel is good enough.isnt the safari wheel already good enough for syrian? or there are something wrong with safari wheel? For my case, my momo is very attached to her wheel and she runs like crazy in it. Sometimes she run too fast and will knock her head there. She usually sleeps at her wheel as well. Hence, I might look for a bigger one for her so she will run more comfortable in it. |

QUOTE(sOuLx @ Jan 15 2008, 04:29 PM) habitrail going to stop the safari production right? Yes, but she is doing it for wodent wheel sr, which might be a little too big to fit inside the 2 ft tank, as per what blurjoey mentioned. i'm going to find a new wheel for montee too.. i hope there's sanko wheel around here.. KP is doing bulk for wodent wheel which cost around rm70-80 i think.. |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Jan 29 2008, 09:26 AM) LOL QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Jan 29 2008, 09:26 AM) i have safari wheel too.. Won have safari wheel too.. we both change to wodent wheel... you cant compare safari whell with wodent wheel.. one is sky one is ground! one is ferari one is proton saga, lol it worth the price!! Hehe - I am changing it for a few reasons:1) my momo is crazy about her wheels and she spend most of her time there. Even sleep on and under the wheel. 2) My momo tank is inside my bedroom and the current wheel is quite noisy. Nezumitaro has teached me to insert a rubber padding to reduce the noise. Sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't. Recently, i notice momo likes to nibble on the rubber and try to pull it out. I don't think it is good for her and it also create more noise than the running wheel when she keep pulling and banging the wheel on the tank, especially in the middle of the night. 3) the wodent wheel looks interesting and fun! I still think that safari is a good basic wheel, for it is quite safe and easy to clean. Recently i notice something very funny when I clean momo's tank. Her salon's brush has no more bristle left. I think she went and chew them away |

QUOTE(sangels @ Jan 29 2008, 10:59 PM) ooo, Joan will post to me I think. QUOTE(sangels @ Jan 29 2008, 11:04 PM) Maybe he want me to buy him Ipoh white coffee.... LoL, white coffee ar? Added on January 29, 2008, 11:06 pm Drink at the coffee shop taste better. Can take together with some toast also. Last time when i stay in KL, I brought my hamsters back to Ipoh too - somemore travel by ekspress bus. I carry them in a carrier (hidden in a big paper bag), when reach home only put into a cage. Hmm, all the discussion about hamster just remind me of the Ipoh petshop mentioned by blurjoey, I still haven't got time to go and kepoh there - I wonder if i can still see white hammies there or not... |

QUOTE(GodLuvSxS @ Feb 4 2008, 07:49 PM) LOL I'm kinda in deep need of help, anyone here could kindly help me get the Prestige's Hamster Nature food and ship it over to Ipoh? I may consider paying for your service, it's hard to find it here hmm, I saw a packet of prestige in Pretty Pets there. There is harry hamster there too, which is quite a good brand. You can try there first if you are desperate of the hamster food. Spot the hammy! ![]() |

QUOTE(sangels @ Feb 4 2008, 08:33 PM) You know where is Ipoh Garden Pizza Hut? It is the one of the shoplots behind Pizza Hut but at the other end there. They don't sell hamster, only dogs but they do carry some basic stuff like food and bedding for hamster. QUOTE(blurjoey @ Feb 4 2008, 08:33 PM) hehe...actually I took a few pictures, but only got one with her standing still The others has her running around as well. QUOTE(blurjoey @ Feb 20 2008, 02:03 AM) Shasha is missing from her tank as of now. Think she have escaped some how when sangels was not at home. Not sure how a 4 weeks old syrian so small can climb out a 2 feet tank. Hope that Shasha is still alive in the apartment building. Have put Shasha's food bowl outside the tank hoping she will come back when she is hungry. Sangels is devastated over this. QUOTE(sangels @ Feb 20 2008, 02:05 AM) I lost my Shasha today when I came back from gathering. I don't know how she can escape or missing, but I really sad when I can't find her in the tank. I miss her so much and really hope for miracle that she will come back to us. Or else I really hope someone who can take good care of her. Will miss you - Shasha..... My girl... |

QUOTE(jtl @ Feb 21 2008, 04:03 PM) RM17.30 is the old price. Just curious, when is the expiry date? Coz the new price out was last August November 2008. QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Feb 21 2008, 04:19 PM) $16 is DAMN cheap loh... hahaha guess old stock and he dont know the price goes up... better go sapu haha.. I think I spend really a lot yesterday until the owner also give me more discount. I got it for RM15. Don't dare to buy more since it is expiring end of this year and my current packet still left 25%. Bought some meadow grass to add into Momo's bedding. Smell nice but she leave them alone. QUOTE(dien @ Feb 21 2008, 09:04 PM) 800gm one. |

QUOTE(shayne @ Apr 16 2008, 09:26 PM) that's very easy, just cut a hole at the plastic bottle then use the suction cup to stick it on ur tank's wall. the ladder made by chopsticks... ooh, nice idea. [attachmentid=445578][attachmentid=445581] I have a lot of empty plastic bottle at home. Maybe I will make one for momo too! |
