That day when i was at car wash, there was a credit card booth. The salesman promoting Citibank, HSBC and Standard at one go

He said Standard Plat Free for life with 0 condition.

Credit Limit 20k?
1) use your credit card for many years. the bank will progressively increase your credit limit
2) find a higher earning job lor

Nowadays our generation would be able to get Plat. It's only a matter of time / age

I recall correctly is Standard Charted. The sale man was seriously pushy. Cannot escape cause waiting for car to finish wash. Anyway, I didn't apply cause sounded fishy

You guys memang use Petronas so apply Maybank, or purposely change from other petrol to Petronas after getting the card?
*
For me I will apply for Maybank Petronas CC because it is Free for Life, not because of petrol cash rebate or 5x treats points that it offers since mostly I use Esso or Shell.

check rhb bank plat.. requirement is only RM60k lower than direct access.. look like all bank trying to lower down all the requirement..
*
On the same note I noticed that StandardChartered has also lowered their Platinum Mastercard requirement to RM60K per annum. If I remember it correctly, it used to be RM80K or RM90K per annum (Seems like the new entry point is similar for a Gold card several years back for most banks)

See StandardChartered Platinum Info

The VISA version is still high @ RM105K per annum.

If all banks keep revising down the Platinum requirements then Platinum card got no more exclusive value anymore. Emm ... suddenly the HSBC Premier cards looks like an attractive target to acquire. hmm.gif

Emmm ... don't think so.

Income requirements is RM80K per annum. Although you could use your existing Gold card from other banks which has at least RM18K on it to qualify for EON's bank Platinum.

EON's Bank Platinum Card Requirements

Of all the platinums on offer, the one bring down the standard most is OCBC Robinsons Platinum card. you can get it even if your salary hardly reaches 4,000. Such a disgrace!

On one of the roadshows, I was approached by their OCBC sales rep to apply for the Robinsons Platinum card. I applied but thank god the application didn't went through (I used a new card as reference, sales rep didn't check this) as after reaching home I read the entry requirement and was shocked it was very low.

I think the card main strategy & target market is for people to shop at Robinsons as to get the annual fee waiver, you have to spend a certain amount at Robinsons to qualify.
