I'm planning to take paper F4, F6, F7 and F8, any recommendation on which colleges or lecturers in KL area? kasturi, ftms, bandar, mcorange......
For each lecturer and colleges, i would like to know in detail about:--
How about their teaching technique in the classes? Do they explain more examples, practice questions n past year questions in the normal class (not in IRC) ? Which textbook are these lecturers normally based on for their lecture notes? Are their lecture notes cover all the content in the textbook or not? Which college provide study materials - textbook or exam kit or both? which publisher - BPP or FTC or other books? Do these colleges provide library facilities? which colleges hv FTC books to borrow n which hv BPP?
So many thing u want know ah! Try my best lah!
F4 Vikness (KSA) - This paper don't have any text book provided. His notes are on the chart for student easy to understand. His teaching technique is very good, some time tell u funny funny story in the class. Beside PYQ, he will give other question for student practice also.
F6 Alan Yeo (KSA) - He is good in this paper and can make u understand in this paper, but very boring. He provide his own text book and normally will use this book during the class.
F6 Siva Nair (FTMS) - According to some student, he is good oso for this paper. But I never attend his class b4, so can't give any comment.
F6 Choong Kwai Fatt, IRC (SEGi) - This fellow not teaching every sitting. But if he teaching, I strongly recommend you go. In his 3 days IRC, he can cover the whole syllabus for F6. His exam technique very good in this paper.
F7 Joe Fang (KSA) - Very good technique in Calculation, but not so good in teaching IFRS.
F7 Keith Farmer (KSA) - According to somebody, he is very good in teaching consol and IFRS also. His exam technique and study note quiet good also.
F7 Haneef (Mc Orange) - He teaching IFRS is very good, but boring in teaching calculation part. I still remember he spend around 6 leason to teach consol. But his fees was very expensive.
F8 Philip Woo (KSA) - His teaching method can make student to very easy understand the audit procedure. For eg, he will tell u the actual fact in the purchasing system to make u understand the control procedure. Later after u understand the purchasing system, he will show u how to do audit in that system. In the class, he also teach student step by step to answer past year question. But his notes is not so good, b'cos more on story based.
F8 Sheila (Mc Orange) - Difference from Philip Woo where Sheila study notes was very detail. She will show student how to memorise the important Key Word. But her notes too detail until I can't finish study during that sitting I attend her class. Her teaching method good also but some time too fast until I unable to catch up wht she try to tell me. And currently her tuition fees too expensive until can't acceptable.
For text book, if I'm not mistake, KSA will only provide text book for 1st term student (possible will be BPP), Mc Orange will provide examination kit (BPP also). But no any BPP or FTC text book for F4(M) and F6(M).
But actually text book is not important already if u study under this my recommendation lecturer (beside Alan Yeow), cos both of them will provide their own study notes and past year Q & A(PYQ). In the class, they will teach student by using their own notes and practice PYQ to show student exam technique. So text book is only for reference purpose.
For library, both of the college also provide library service. If u want to borrow book, I think u need to paid deposit (refundable). Both of them also have BPP and FTC book for u to borrow, but if I'm not mistake KSA won't allow student borrow out their latest version of BPP or FTC books.
But once against, if u got the good study notes from lecturer, then both BPP or FTC books will not important anymore.
Hope my advise can help u.
