Hi there, anyone can advise on this issue.

My sister and her friend posted 2 parcel (the same supplement products) from Australia and reached Malaysia on 6th June.
Custom inspection been cleared, and successfully posted to IPOH pos laju office on 8th June.
My sister's friend parcel been successfully collected from pos laju office.

*Refer to the tracking above, the parcel ready to be self collect at counter on 8th June.

But when my mum went to their office on 15th (1 week later), the pos laju refused to give my mum the parcel and claimed that the parcel is detained by "PHARMACY"
what the heck?? detained by PHARMACY????

Since my mum cant speak Bahasa Melayu well, she can't argue with them and the staff refused to give her back the self collect statement. and she just leave the office with nothing!!

after she told me about this, i found that the tracking ended up with the last 3 entries which look suspicious.
Date Time Process Office

15 Jun 2015, 5:50 PM Delivery process PPL IPOH
15 Jun 2015, 5:17 PM Arrive at delivery office PPL IPOH

Delivery process > Delivered RAMPAS (KASTAM)??????

refer to the tracking, the custom should be cleared on 8th right? how come end up will be "rampas" when my mum try to collect from pos laju??
I am wondering if the staff there grab the parcel for their own use.

As at now, we do not receive and also they dint provide us any formal notice or detained letter. any way to check with the Custom if the parcel is being detained or being grabbed by the little thief of pos laju??

Thousands appreciation for helps....

I got 2 boxes from Japan quite big but value is low problem is its heavy so shipping cost is quite high. Seller also used EMS with tracking

1 box 3,000 Yen value + 14,200 Yen shipping
2nd box same as above

Declared items as a gift and no commecial value, because I will pesonally use them

it's been 12 hours since boxes arrived at KLIA and status stucked at Custom Inspection.. I have received may packages from Japan since April and they normally clear custom within the same day usually after 3-5 hours my packages gets sent to POS Laju KLIA

Is it safe to say that my boxes got held by Custom because this is the first time a package of mine will be held for this long as per poslaju website. Like I said above all my packages usually clear customs the same day 3-5 hours after they receive it for inspection (based from status changes from poslaju)

If I go claim the package what paperwork do I need as it got sent to me by the brother of my friend from Japan so there is no commercial invoice, I just paid my friend here in Malaysia cash and he said he will pass the money to his brothers bank account.

How can I prove in custom that the declared value is really the value I paid for the items?

I dont know how they picked but item packed in a big package will normally be picked. Sometimes it all about luck. 2 of my parcel didnt get stopped but the last one did. Same item but different time of arranging in.

what if item is held by custom or shipper, pending payment for tax + handling fee and you decided to forfeit the item due to not worth the cost, they will follow up or penalize you?

Hello guys

I bought supplements from UK and the seller haven't send to me the invoice of the items
They about 30 bottle of pills which is will come in a small package, the goods haven't arrived yet, but i feel it will stack in the custom as i read many subjects regarding custom problems through pos laju

If may product stack there, is there any one can help to take them out! Even i will pay for him to get his help
Or do you recommend any plan to get out through the custom.

Will be glad to hear back from you.

it depends on which courier company you are using. For those like ups, fedex and dhl they will usually pay the tax in advance if it is less than certain amount. I think it 's less than rm200. If more than that, they will call you to see if you want to pay. However, if the item have not pass through customs yet, you can call the courier company and tell them NOT to pay any tax or duty. If kena, just call you. If eventually kena tax, they will call you and you can actually get "agents" to settle for you. However, the amount they charge you is also quite high. So this method only make sense if you are importing in large quantity or if the tax amount is super high.

hi,im nurul ,it has been 2 years i import fragrance and cosmetic from usa.im not facing any problem with dhl or customs..but for this year 2012 my shipment that arrived on 2 feb at dhl subang still not release by customs.due to farmasi act..i just informed by cosmetics department from  biro pharmaceutical kebangsaan today that starts from 2012 all import item under cosmetic subject..perfumes,skincare ,makeup etc will need nota notifikasi that is kelulusan from farmasi ..tidak kira sama ada u buy as gift, personel use or to resell..and they say nota notifikasi hanya dikeluarkan kepada pengimport berlesen..let say i buy mariah carey fragrance so they wont allow me to import that from overseas..they say only elizabeth arden malaysia or licensed distributor can import ..the notification notes wont be issued for me even if i want it..what all of u think about that? so they also say that its illegal for us to sell such item online because we dont have licensed to import that and its already available here in counter..just purchase here they say..how stupid they are..its damn expensive here!! so now they are telling us that we are no more allow to make extra income by selling import perfumes and cosmetic from overseas..im blank and dont know what to do now..thats why all have to use org dalam to help ..

Lol sorry for bumping an ancient post but my package although safely arrived it was slapped with a Stern warning from the pharmacy dept. THIS WILL BE THE LAST CLEARANCE!!

Ive been importing perfume sample vials for the past 2 years without any problem, but somehow my online buying activities greatly slowing down due to bad currency exchange. I made my 1St order on fragrancex.com this year & it got unlucky.

So sad cry.gif there goes my niche perfume sampling binge...now I have to settle with mediocre perfumes that masses used & available locally. I won't dare to attempt another purchase because I believe my name has been put into the 'caution' list.

Thanks for the info.

But for shipper's case, I might not retrieve any number because I'm using regular airmail which didn't give any numbers + insurance in case my item lost during shipment. Tracking number only provide if I take register airmail.

However, I'm still waiting another one more week before I contact the seller.

Buy from HK. Use non-tracking cheap mail. Kek.

You wait lah....

I bought a console from a US seller last week Thursday. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Item+Shipping+Import Charges*=RM400-ish. But after reading related threads just now I'm afraid that it will be detained by those kastam even though my item is <RM500 or worse they slap another RM400 for no reason if you want to release your item and so on. Which one is true? I'm confused and scared right now. sad.gif sad.gif

* On ebay they say it means no additional import charges on delivery, which also include taxes and stuff.

EDIT: I also live far away from kastam office, so I cannot go to their office and nego with them.

I don't know what console but normally if the kastam tahan, POS malaysia KLIA will send a letter to you if you wanna appoint them as the agent for declaration. about RM50. Last time I bought a carbon fiber GTR R35 rear spoiler also no problem.
