How did you know your package has been detained? Normally if your package has been detained you will receive a notice from poslaju.

You can appoint poslaju or you can go directly go to the custom department to clear it yourself. Just provide them the slip from poslaju. If you dont have it you can try using the tracking number.

If you want to call them try to do it around 10-11am normally after lunch its going to be a bit harder to get them.

My nightmare is about to begin, thanks for all the info above.
Sorry if it is a repetitive question, i bought Bandai SHF Figures, approx 10 nos of different characters, will i be charge for tax?
If i mention for personal use, i.e. collector, wedding gift, will it be exempted?

Thanks

I believe you will still be tax no matter if the item is a gift/personal use or etc. You mostly wont be tax if item is less than RM500 including your shipping charges

It depends on your luck actually but if your parcel is big then most likely you will be taxed.

i think toys is 10% sales tax if not wrong

10% of the total cost of your item plus shipping

Thanks for your kind info.
Say in future, how can i avoid this from happening.
Seek declaration as gift from the seller or declare the total price less than RM500?

a lowered performa invoice from your supplier will be helpful but do bare in mind if parcel missing you wont be able to claim for the price you have bought your item, keep your parcel in small and medium size.

also depends on your luck sometime.

Definitely there is pro & con plus luck.
Nothing much i can do now, just have to pay for it and be more careful in future.
Thank you very much for your time and input.

Hi, is there any possible way that I can find out whether my parcel is held by customs or not? Like calling the customs department at KILA or something? Cause it has already been 6 weeks+ and I have yet to receive a parcel from UK via DHL Global (no tracking).

If it is held by customs usually how long will it take for them to process it and send the letter to me?

I planning to buy something fragile, I dont mind kena custom since I already checked, it has sales tax.

the thing I worry is how they handle our items. we should open in front of them and if is seriously damaged, I can straight claim from custom if they are responsible?

Not get the cash money but as in file a complaint, etc?

Did someone face this problem before? or your fragile item is always safe?

Thanks in advance for telling

May I know what with the custom charged me Handling/Documentation Fee RM48.00 and Special Delivery Charges RM50.00? I wonder the handling/documentation just a few piece of paper will cost me RM48.00 and not include the delivery charge fee.

Another thing is I've paid the total price of my items USD428.40 before discounted is USD540. But the custom taxed me using USD540 instead the total price I've paid. Issit illegal? Please advise.

I have paid for the express shipping before at the same clothes online shopping site. End up they using UPS. But I still have to paid the Malaysia custom duty/tax fee. So geram! That's why this time I'm using standard shipping end up have to kautim this thing myself =="

Hi, I did receive the detained paper from the Postman. He sent to my home address because that time I was at home.

You should ask the sender for the tracking no. so can check the Australia side whether the package reach in Malaysia or not. If already reach in Malaysia, then you try call to the Pos Malaysia customer service check the tracking no. Usually they will give you the letter if custom really hold your item.

I use DHL, normally RM50 processing fee(standard) only (+6% gst).

also, the custom duty amount is depends on Custom malaysia and bear by Buyer. unless your Seller state bear by them, which usually wont/not coz they are not familiar with other country Custom procedure and hassle to refund your back or etc..

On the discount, Custom may take the Gross Amount instead of Net. Best to consult with Custom directly or ask UPS why so. (i deem they take it this goods worth USD540). Discount is given by the seller to the buyer but the goods worth/Cost is still USD540 in actual.
