hai SAPians....

Currently i am undertaking SAP course, Sales and Distribution Module certification. Few days a ago i went for an interview with a company using SAP in its back end. During the interview i explain about the SAP things which i am learning. Base on my explanation the interviewer conclude i am taking SAP level 1. Base on the interviewer, there are 4 levels in SAP. Each level cost different $$$.

Is that true SAP have 4 different level in any module? Starting from level 1 to highest level 4.

It depends on how they differentiate the level.. probably beginner .. advance .. expert etc. I guess this is not only for SAP, but for other things in general too..

Anyone of you here doing contract or permanent role in Singapore?
Just wanted to find out the estimated standard daily rates.

So far the offers have been various depending the different headhunters.
Apparently the local SAP consultants in SG earns lower then those in MY.

As I know Basis is on the monitor system administration & performance side..

They :
administrate SAP GUI
involves in SAP Security
administrate user's role & profiles
set authorizations
monitor system via SAP tools

any tcode that starts with S (like SM37, SM04 etc..) is related to Basis biggrin.gif

what's about BI? got no idea about this... and even though i want to jump, i don't think i have such a requirement to do so coz usually company will take your experience into consideration before hiring you... i don't have experience at all...  cry.gif

BI is actually BW, just an upgrade. i was given two separate trainings for that module (Bw3 and BI7, both basic trainings) while i was doing Basis. before i got the trainings, my senior told me that it's good to have some programming background when you do BI.

well, that provided that the company you are working for would allow module shifts or retooling.

basis guys basically handle the technical side of SAP. from SAP tuning against the servers, SAP configurations on printers, users, transport configuration, client management, etc.

when you say essence of basis, i'd say it's "You make sure that the SAP systems are UP AND RUNNING as how they should be and as how the customers want them to be running."

user/role/security management is actually taught on TADM10 and support can also be done by a basis consultant (including CUA management). but usually there is a separate dedicated security team (module: BC-SEC) to do the support.

Normally try not to accept bond unless they promise you a good amount of SAP training.

For SAP technical like ABAP, never accept a bond! Learning ABAP is not hard, not worth bonding.

For SAP functional, a bond might be worth it if you are given the chance to specialize in a SAP module (e.g. HCM, MM, FI, PI or BI). Please check what module you will be in and what your role is for.

yea... i doubt that in a 10-day course you learn every single detail of SAP in those modules...

say jr consultant, i guess it's first level support job that u can aim for.. e.g. change layout, simple config etc..

i doubt they'll teach you how to config account determination, config a movement type, config credit management, LSMW etc... those complex & difficult ones will be left out

u've to have working experience to understand those and know how to do it in real world situation..

i am guessing that would be only an overview of SAP. maybe like a training for end users - how does SAPGUI work and its basic functions. i doubt it's going to direct you to a specific module.

but if it does, lucky students smile.gif

For SAP technical UNLIKE Basis, bond will be worth it i tell you. by the time you finish lets say a 30 month bond, you still wouldn't be able to grasp the whole of Basis. it's a really broad module.

are they any other technical modules beside ABAP and Basis that i do not know of?

Taken it before when I was in Taylors.

It's basically:-
mySAP Best-Practices for Medium Size Enterprise
- It covers all end-user parts for all modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, QM, LE, WM, HR, etc)
- The main focus in this course would be the different Organizational Units, Master Data, Business Processes Best Practices (Which is basically SAP suggested "process flow")..
- Outside is approximately 12-18k. Hence, if you have the additional $$$ and interested in entering SAP, it's a good bargain as it will give you an edge over "normal fresh graduates" who wishes to enter into SAP as well.
- Do note that, this certification is catered more to SAP B1 (SAP's answer for the SME(Small Medium Enterprise) Market) and is no means a "guaranteed opportunity" to secure a SAP position.
- And yes, it's recognized world-wide (provided you pass the certification) and not just "sitting on your ass" the entire 2 weeks (they still provide you with an attendance cert). But again, I have to emphasize, it's more towards the "Overview of SAP and catering more towards SAP B1 market". But whatever it is, it's a good opportunity if and only if you have the additional $$$ to spare.

Additional Notes:
> The price of the examination is RM 1,800 if I'm not mistaken(when I last took my MM certification on Jan 2010), I'm not sure if the 5K covers the exam as well, please check with Mr.Maha (I believe he's still instructing the class) with regards to this.

Possible Question :  Is the business processes from this BP-ERP course applicable to ( R/3 or mySAP system)?

Yes. That I can assure you, as they literally just taken out 2 chapters of every module(HR,SD,FI,MM,QM,etc) and "slotted' it into the BP-ERP course.
> However, you will NOT be learning the main configurations (which is the bread of butter of any SAP functional consultants) but you will be exposed to the end-user side of all modules and it's business processes(which is still good, if you're into the ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) market).
> If you're interested in joining the SAP consulting firms, try to ensure that your CGPA is at least 3.0 as it's the minimum requirement for most of the these firms.

Hi,

I'm currently working as auditor. I took e-learning for SAP FI. I have 2 years experience in financial field. Can you guide me for looking job into SAP FI. Its very hard to get into job because Companies prefer for experience people and not giving opportunity for fresher.
Do company take any management trainee for their implementation of support project?
I am don't mind if there is any contract or bond.

Looking forward for your reply. Thank you in advance.

Regards,
-jay

To all who may concern, for my case, I have no experience at all. Sorry to tell you guys who PM me, that I do not know how to get in or apply to which companies since I'm totally new to this field. Perhaps "luck" is the only thing to qualified me.

Wish you all success in your life, cheers!

I've seen some SAP functional/technical specialist who has stayed at that role for a long time while some others got promoted to become a SAP manager / senior managers / project managers.

What skills is needed to be a SAP manager; people skills, organization skills, management...

Would companies promote ppl internally or head hunt externally for such position?

How does one get in contact with a head hunter to look for jobs?
