my siblings whenever run out of space of their iphone then use itunes to connect with computer and backup

I would say fast/slow, but whenever transfer photo/change ringtone need to use itunes, very troublesome laugh.gif

Pros and cons anyway, get use to it then ok already

Yes this can be done. But very hard to get it up and running for the first time.

just check, sync via wifi and full backup actually are totally different things. so it cannot replace itunes backup via cable.

technically only two ways to do full backup of iphone, one is via icloud one is via itunes over cable.
no other methods.
transfer over wifi is only to move data to new iphone = so it is also not a long term backup solution.

Sync over Wi-Fi only transfers selected iTunes content (music, movies, photos, etc.) from PC to device.
Full backup saves nearly everything on your device (apps, settings, messages, photos, etc.) so you can fully restore it later.

👉 Sync = media management, Backup = complete safety copy.

The base iphone this year is a good deal. Makes it feel no reason to get second hand iphone 15 or 16 pro for similar price lol

200GB iCloud is too little for me. laugh.gif I'm using standalone 2TB iCloud and Apple Music (student package).

Though I also have Spotify, YouTube Premium as well. tongue.gif

I still prefer Apple Music for music and Spotify for larger music selection and podcast.
*
Yeah, I did notice that there were one or two songs that I can’t find in Apple Music but is available on Spotify but just having everything on Apple’s platform is more convenient for me and costs less in the grand scheme of things. Yeah,I also agree I might run out of the 200GB storage threshold since I’m already half way there biggrin.gif

RM45 for 6 people is not bad at all. About Rm9 each.

It was cheaper actually - used to be just 40 bucks but Apple up it by 5 bucks some time last year if not mistaken laugh.gif

Well, an argument can be made that the 16 Pro still has an additional telephoto camera if you use that kinda thing… otherwise, yeah, a new 17 would be the way to go.

Yes. Its only for those who have a full backup on the pc/laptop only. So you only sync the items that are yet to be synced with the pc/laptop. For complete backup you need a cable definitely.

Yes this in what I do actually. I backup to external hdd. iCloud+ is ex actually which many may not have noticed it.
this is the reason why i backup at least once for a period of a month or two.

Yes, icloud, after 5 years.. you paid the synology off already... unless your home no broadband then can't la... ok there's a tradeoff.. Synology apps very clunky.. versus icloud which is seamless..that's the trade off lo.. but i don't browse remotely that often, just back it up.

iCloud+ 2TB RM 44.90/month, pay for less than 2 years already can use the rm1k spent to buy 2x more storage which will be helpful for taking a lot of photos/videos. i find it quite a lot to spend and not to mention it is ongoing cost. tongue.gif

less than 2 years icloud + 2TB monthly = 2x storage size already. tongue.gif

seriously one thing i never try yet is to backup to itunes with iphone 15 pro and above that has usb 3.0 speed. maybe it will significantly faster than usb 2.0 that makes the itunes backup not a hassle? as mention itunes backup only 1st time backup takes long time while subsequently will be fast depending how much data u increased since the previous backup. If the usb 3.0 on iphone 15 pro and above is really faster for itunes, one can easily backup on daily basis, which once u reached home, u just plug for it to backup for a short while.

Yeah which is why I subscribe to Apple One and not just iCloud - so I’m not just paying for storage but for music, tv, etc. smile.gif

I wonder how the preorder reception for the iPhone Air will be like tonight smile.gif

should I downgrade from 15 Pro 128gb to 17? I feel 17 Pro is asking for too much money and 17 is good enough. Or maybe change to 16 Pro? I be only missing the telephoto....

opinions please

Those still using iTunes in 2025, go to Microsoft Store and download Apple Devices. It is less bloated, enough to do the work of backing up your iPhone.
iTunes has been discontinued already

im thinking of doing exactly this, its a fair downgrade/sidegrade imo because you're only losing the telephoto but gain better front camera & ultrawide, better processor A19 vs A17 pro, better battery, (+)lighter phone, bigger storage. same 120hz display but sligthly larger 6.3 inch
