To be honest, I might most likely getting the Pro Max version instead (if I were to upgrade from 16PM to 17PM) but if this 17 Air is real, it really attracts my attention. I like how slim it is. laugh.gif

USB 2.0, single speaker, lesser battery life, single rear camera… you really really really must want the thinness if you’re willing to sacrifice so much. I must confess it does look pretty though.

EdiT:
Not sure about MYR pricing, but the magsafe battery is USD99.
The Air starts at USD999, while the Pro starts at USD1099
Air with magsafe battery claimed 40hrs of video playback. Pro claimed 39hrs.
So if you add the magsafe battery to the Air, you’re basically at Pro price, gain 1hr video playback but lose 2 cameras and stereo speakers.  sweat.gif  laugh.gif

Starts from RM 4999 for us.

I might buy iPhone 17 for my mom later to upgrade from her SE 2022. At least the screen is bigger and everything else is better.

Wait for a few months for those online platforms to be cheaper. tongue.gif

200GB iCloud is too little for me. laugh.gif I'm using standalone 2TB iCloud and Apple Music (student package).

Though I also have Spotify, YouTube Premium as well. tongue.gif

I still prefer Apple Music for music and Spotify for larger music selection and podcast.

should I downgrade from 15 Pro 128gb to 17? I feel 17 Pro is asking for too much money and 17 is good enough. Or maybe change to 16 Pro? I be only missing the telephoto....

opinions please

Buy from Apple and return within 14 days if it doesn’t suit your usage.

not worried about suitable or not - 100% sure suitable wan...lol
but save quite a lot of money for just less one tele cam  blush.gif

btw i tried to trade-in via apple site, it gave me Rm2200 for my 15pro. I think second hand market around 2700
*
Second hand market could be higher but you have to sell it yourself and probably dealing with fussy buyers.

Same here, so I just subscribed to iCloud 2TB to save my headache. Expensive, yes, but seamless to back up across my iDevices. Also another part is I am not hardworking enough to do constant backups to my laptop. laugh.gif

I have to admit. If you pay for iCloud, it’s so seamless and easy. So you get that.

This is a classic example of paying for the convenience and laziness. blush.gif

Yes, a lot of last-minute cancellations. I'm too old to be patient enough to deal with this kind of nonsense.

but they don't allow restoring to new iphone right?

how do you guys handle it? i'm actually on apple one family.

wont u all have many data missing from the few hours gap after full back up to collect phone?
*
You mean Apple trade-in? Why not? They give you 14 days to do that. You can use your new phone first and they will only pick up the old iPhone later.

eh serious???

last time i walk in Switch they say cannot, they will take back old phone straight away.. damn!!!! thanks for the info!!

Yes. You pre-order online today, you can choose delivery or pickup from TRX for your new iPhone. At the same time, you will also choose your pick up date when you pre-order, one day before the pickup date, they will send you an email to remind you. You will also receive a SMS on the day of pick up. Just pass the courier service your old phone, no need box and accessories. They will come with a box to collect. Sit down and wait for the inspection to complete and Apple will credit back the money to you later.

nice, thanks for the info!

but what if they lowball the trade in? or what if damaged when transporting?
*
Won't la. So far, I have never heard anyone here sharing before getting the value lower than the advertised. The courier service is contracted by Apple, for my case it was Pos Malaysia. The guy came with a proper box and plastic, sealed in front of me.

Do they allow trade-in with two phones together (iPhone 15 + iPhone 11)?

I've tried once walk-in at TRX Apple Store before, they inspected on the spot and gave the gift card right after, just within short of time only.
*
I think only one device online, but if you walk in, you can trade-in more than one device and get a gift card.

Then it would not be so bad. But for you only. Other customers would have to spend hours there transferring their data over before handing over their phone. Or backup to pc/laptop before surrendering the phone at Switch.
*
They could just implement the same SOP as the Apple Store. After all, if no old phone is returned, no refund will be made as the full cost is still charged upon purchase. So, they won't have any loss anyway.

have you trade in with apple online store before? do you know the process?
how about local authorize stores? TIA

I shared my experience up there. One thing I cannot recall now if the pickup date was chosen during I ordered or it came later. Later I shall see again but for sure need to choose a date for pickup.

they pay for courier cost to come pickup?

ok thank you. yeah after posting i went back to read your comments.....too fast post already my question lol blush.gif

laugh.gif No worries, I have no trade-in experience with other authorized dealers, but so far, Apple has had the most fuss-free trade-in process, to be honest. They did screw up my refund payment, but that was due to RHB issue. It was still sorted out at the end albeit it took 1.5 months. sweat.gif
