yes the only downside was backup via iTunes might be slow for usb 2.0 , but i think just use wireless backup will do 
And in 2025 , do actually people stil using iTunes? At least among my friend and family , dont surprise that non-of them actually knowing iTunes    , only old user might know iTunes because we need using it to update our device in old day and now , everything to cloud and wireless.
Found back 2012 picture , using itunes to update the iOS    , updating iOS in old day was damn scary , will sudden pop-up error

No mood. iOS 26 really makes me really fed up. The feature I used the most still has bugs, the gesture control is so different from Android & hard to get used to. Unless iOS become like Android then I don't mind buying even a 2TB Pro Max

i think esim is great for secondary backup telco numbers but not for main number. I prefer physical in case i wish to trade in my phone in the future.
i see why esim is such a hassle if you have it as your only number.   

A little update on my iPhone 17 purchase via Shopee Flagship store

Good news, they honoured my trade in value as I had declared according to the options given.
Got offered RM250 for iPhone 13 128GB + RM100 trade in bonus (shopee) . Apple official store offered mine for recycle, so the 350 is just a bonus for me 
As mentioned, my phone is banged up with lots of micro scratches, few dents and cracked backglass, else functionality wise intact, zero water damage, camera works as intended.
Be that as it may, i love my ip13, it works(or worked) as intended with the exceptions of occasional warm with terrible battery drainage (77% battery health), surprisingly no battery bloating

Process itself is simple.

26/9 - Remobie called to arranged date and time for trade in collection which is today 29/9 ( orginally eta was around mid october )
29/9 - The Remobie representative called like 3 hours prior to confirm my availability, came to inspect earlier than appointed time, inspection wise took around 15mins, nothing technical, simply checking the basic functions, signed the agreement paper with IC, got my new phone on the spot

Have a question about esim.

I have a legacy mobile line which does not have any commitment and no data. More like you use you pay, but it's a postpaid line. I use it mainly to receive sms for banking etc.

Can I convert it to esim without the need to subscribe to a data package? (I have another line that comes with data)

Telco is celcom. In their website it says you can convert to esim. Afraid that they may force you to take up a data plan.

How’s the battery on the air compared to pro max? Thinking of trying out the air too…

I usually laugh at them. Old cannot see is it.

I used various sizes, from 11 then down to 13 mini and back up to 15. Loved the 13 mini but the battery was too compromised.

I test drove 16 pro max  twice… natural and black. Was simply too heavy, not nice to hold 1 hand even with MagSafe ring. I really dig the natural finish. The screen didn’t matter at all to me since I use it mainly to read and watch YouTube which is 60fps max anyway. Screen size is big, but I went back to 15 no issue. Wasn’t life changing. Oh and it was heavy as fk. I was fond of the 16 pro, lucky didn’t buy else I’ll be wtf 17 better. (I don’t need telephoto lens).

It really is personal preference but calling vanilla 17 small is.. I dunno. Phones just keep getting bigger.

I guess I am an outlier. lol. Form factor matters more. And no iPhone is “slow” since Apple’s A chips are always top of the game.

But smart commercial move by Apple. If you want big screen, it’s Pro Max.

I think its about 1 charge vs 2 charge thing , the air and the 17 should be just need extra 1 juice in the middle and good to go. And can forgot about the 20-80% on these phone , just fully use the battery capacity , charge to 100%.

Haha yea should just full charge till 100%, otherwise life will be hard to start the day 80%...1 charge in the middle of the day is not that bad actually..in exchange for the slim and light weight...thinking hard if I should do it..

Curious about the hype apple sheeps keeps talking online, so walk in grab & touch the 17 Air for a while, not even 5 mins, I walk out again, nice fon but IOS 26 not for me.

guess so, the recent 11.11 sales already dropped lower than iphone 17.

next few sales period surely will drop further.

but just worry due to poor sales, apple will also reduce the production further, then maybe even low price also no stock. haha.
