Those still using iTunes in 2025, go to Microsoft Store and download Apple Devices. It is less bloated, enough to do the work of backing up your iPhone.
iTunes has been discontinued already

Aiyo. Any chance if you'll know the turnaround time from you request till the carrier send you the esim? Instantaneous or have to wait?

And the charge might be a deal breaker in thw long run.
I switch phone depends on the occasion.
For work I use my Fold, if I go cycling/exercise/travel light  I switch to my iPhone etc.
*
Usually instantaneous. Tunetalk and Maxis charge Rm10 for each request.
I would advise you not to switch eSIM like you do with physical sim. Just plan properly which sim will be in what phone, otherwise better stick to physical

My main Fon is Oppo Find X6 Pro, since it's 2 years old & I worry it might spoiled so I buy the 16e to use my  Bank apps only with a cheap hotlink prepaid card 180 days for RM 30 cos I rarely used my 16e myself. TBH with you my Oppo Find X6 Pro OLED quality is much better than my 16e OLED. That's why I keep using

so still want to buy iPhone Air/18 kah?

I'm using Hotlink Pantas plan, which plan you using ? The cheapest plan on Pantas is the Rahmah RM 30 for 180 days. Can't find anything cheaper than that. Curious how yours can get for only RM 30 + RM 10 bro
No mood. iOS 26 really makes me really fed up. The feature I used the most still has bugs, the gesture control is so different from Android & hard to get used to. Unless iOS become like Android then I don't mind buying even a 2TB Pro Max
*
Like I said, if you expect iOS to become like Android then you shouldn't be using iOS. Go get rid of your 16E now and switch to china-made android phone. Your life will be happier.

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Sep 25 2025, 04:06 PM)
let's just say I wish to trade in my iPhone 15 for iPhone Air, then later how to install esim? because all iPhone 17 variants here comes with esim only right?

i have hotlink Postpaid physical sim in my iPhone 15, so later I need to go to nearest Maxis center to convert from physical to esim?
need to do this BEFORE or AFTER i buy iPhone Air?

i think esim is great for secondary backup telco numbers but not for main number. I prefer physical in case i wish to trade in my phone in the future.
i see why esim is such a hassle if you have it as your only number.  sweat.gif  doh.gif

Since you are going to buy the new iPhone air:
1. You can convert the current physical SIM to eSIM on iPhone 15. Just go to settings>cellulor data, click on your hotlink number and there is option to convert to eSIM. The conversion is immediate.
2. After you got the new iPhone air, finish setup the iPhone using wifi. Then go to Settings>Mobile Data>add eSIM, choose transfer from nearby phone and follow the process.

No need the hassle of going to Maxis centre to request eSIM now. Mostly people reported that for Maxis, the eSIM transfer does not work during initial setup, have to finish setting up the new iPhone and then transfer from mobile data settings.

A little update on my iPhone 17 purchase via Shopee Flagship store

Good news, they honoured my trade in value as I had declared according to the options given.
Got offered RM250 for iPhone 13 128GB + RM100 trade in bonus (shopee) . Apple official store offered mine for recycle, so the 350 is just a bonus for me  rclxms.gif
As mentioned, my phone is banged up with lots of micro scratches, few dents and cracked backglass, else functionality wise intact, zero water damage, camera works as intended.
Be that as it may, i love my ip13, it works(or worked) as intended with the exceptions of occasional warm with terrible battery drainage (77% battery health), surprisingly no battery bloating

Process itself is simple.

22/9 - Ordered
26/9 - Remobie called to arranged date and time for trade in collection which is today 29/9 ( orginally eta was around mid october )
29/9 - The Remobie representative called like 3 hours prior to confirm my availability, came to inspect earlier than appointed time, inspection wise took around 15mins, nothing technical, simply checking the basic functions, signed the agreement paper with IC, got my new phone on the spot
*
They gave you some time to do transfer from old phone to new phone, or straight away collect your old phone?

Have a question about esim.

I have a legacy mobile line which does not have any commitment and no data. More like you use you pay, but it's a postpaid line. I use it mainly to receive sms for banking etc.

Can I convert it to esim without the need to subscribe to a data package? (I have another line that comes with data)
*
Which telco? Try insert the sim, go to mobile data and see if there's option to convert to eSIM.

Telco is celcom. In their website it says you can convert to esim. Afraid that they may force you to take up a data plan.
*
Convert physical SIM to eSIM is just like SIM replacement. It will not change your plan.

How’s the battery on the air compared to pro max? Thinking of trying out the air too…

Cannot compare. Pro Max is the king of battery

QUOTE(Jason @ Oct 12 2025, 01:15 PM)
I usually laugh at them. Old cannot see is it.

I used various sizes, from 11 then down to 13 mini and back up to 15. Loved the 13 mini but the battery was too compromised.

I test drove 16 pro max  twice… natural and black. Was simply too heavy, not nice to hold 1 hand even with MagSafe ring. I really dig the natural finish. The screen didn’t matter at all to me since I use it mainly to read and watch YouTube which is 60fps max anyway. Screen size is big, but I went back to 15 no issue. Wasn’t life changing. Oh and it was heavy as fk. I was fond of the 16 pro, lucky didn’t buy else I’ll be wtf 17 better. (I don’t need telephoto lens).

It really is personal preference but calling vanilla 17 small is.. I dunno. Phones just keep getting bigger.

I guess I am an outlier. lol. Form factor matters more. And no iPhone is “slow” since Apple’s A chips are always top of the game.

But smart commercial move by Apple. If you want big screen, it’s Pro Max.
*
I went to see iPhone 17, and feel it is just nice in terms of size, even better than my current 15 Plus. 17 PM is just too heavy.
In the end still decide to keep my current phone. Switch trade in can get Rm1700, but I do not feel the need to change yet.

I think its about 1 charge vs 2 charge thing , the air and the 17 should be just need extra 1 juice in the middle and good to go. And can forgot about the 20-80% on these phone , just fully use the battery capacity , charge to 100%.
*
QUOTE(dikae @ Oct 13 2025, 09:37 AM)
Haha yea should just full charge till 100%, otherwise life will be hard to start the day 80%...1 charge in the middle of the day is not that bad actually..in exchange for the slim and light weight...thinking hard if I should do it..biggrin.gif

guess so, the recent 11.11 sales already dropped lower than iphone 17.

next few sales period surely will drop further.

but just worry due to poor sales, apple will also reduce the production further, then maybe even low price also no stock. haha.
*
Maybe they should forget about the idea of 16E and 17E. Just focus on improving the Air.
