Did you disable TR-069 and see if it works? Maybe they push something.

Which OLT vendor are you on?
You can check from your Mikrotik:
Bridge > Host

Get the VID mac address that's not your Mikrotik, like from VLAN 209.
Lookup the OUI.

- Don't need to pay bill for first 6 months
- Start paying bill after 6 months (RM 159 + sst)
- Free Disney hotstar for 6 months
- After 24 months. speed drop to 500Mbps
- Start looking for new deal
*
After 24 months is like contract ends yes? Sounds like okay deal?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 22 2025, 01:29 PM)
Do you need 1Gbps?
*
Its a big house with many people and multiple gadgets. Im not sure 500mbps would do us fine. Previously downgrade to 500mbps before unifi start offering cheaper plans during contract period, so they up our speed to 800mbps.

I also live in a big house with many people and multiple devices and somehow 500Mbps is enough for our usage. Paying 90 for 500Mbps, I think it is the best deal for 500Mbps now.

If that 1Gbps suits you then go ahead, RM 159 for 1Gbps is not too bad actually.

I meant login to Mikrotik. Left side click Bridge.
Right side click Hosts tab on top.

But nevermind, your screenshot works. Assuming they change nothing you are on Nokia OLT.

tng55 is right on this one. Fiber reading koyak.

Bad fiber won't cause this. Because there is only one fiber, not like in data center installation where you have 2 fibers, one for TX, another for RX.
*
Actually in my experience, it can. My TIME installer accidentally melted a bit thru the fibre. Temperature fluctuates throughout the day, and the reading changes from -18 all the way to -28 until it disconnects. At bad reading, upload is max speed, while download suffered.

Ya I saw his reading -31... Surprised it still works.
But don't understand why it works and only upload works fine

The ingress is from Singapore if it's 10ms.
For KUL it should just be 4-5ms if you are also in KL.
But day time normally okay. At least that's my experience.

The packet from your computer to Cloudflare is via MyIX. But Cloudflare to your computer can varied between Singapore, Hong Kong, France.
TM deliberately do this to all CDN.

Some IP block are only advertised to HE in France or Hong Kong. So for those IP block, traffic will additionally need to travel from Singapore to Hong Kong, then back to Malaysia.

HE routing policy will prefer iBGP learned route instead of eBGP.

My ping to AWS MY is around 4ms. Singapore around 9ms.

My cheap router has some bufferbloat and WiFi interference issue so 9ms is pretty much expected. For comparison, 8.8.8.8 is about 7ms. I will probably upgrade to a better router soon if I want to reduce another 2 to 3ms.

Usually it is enough. But if many people/devices, better invest in a good router or mesh system. If depend on TM provided router with many devices connected sure the end result will not be good. Therefore users end up thinking need to go 1gbps or 2gbps speed.

Then just walk into any Maxis centre, register a fibre plan and get transfer ID.

Test again now and see... It is congestion time.
I test now 49.5Mbps download only. 2.2% packet loss. 77ms latency unloaded. 81.5ms loaded.
