I will look into this. Did you use a thermal pad that is as large as the surface area between the case and the heatsink?
Yes I bought a big piece of thermal pad and cut it to fit the heat sink .[2024] Mac Mini with M4 / M4 Pro

QUOTE(axercr777 @ Dec 30 2024, 05:47 PM) I will look into this. Did you use a thermal pad that is as large as the surface area between the case and the heatsink? It turned out that the issue was due to incorrect nvme placement during installation. Silly me. It should be fixed in the middle of the screw slot and it does not touch the plate. First, I stacked two thermal pads between the ssd and the MC40 case, temp drops to 40-43. This made me realized that the thermal pad was not in contact with the case all this while. After rewatch a few installation videos, I noticed that the ssd needs to be secured between the slotted screws. I reinstall again but this time using a single thermal pad, and the temp now ranges between 39-41 under normal load. |

QUOTE(Kiding @ Dec 30 2024, 07:25 PM) Thanks for your reply. Was planning of managing my cable and stuff... don't really like to plug the sound jack at the front. If hdmi can pass the audio signal, may be i can plug the audio jack to the monitor instead. |

Already start selling. Price is reasonable too! Not in a rush to get yet. Wait review see if it's reliable since the PCB is not as thick as apple's.

Wait another 2-3 month only can get true result. The PCB is thick as apple original 1. Problem is original 1 maybe 15mm it has 10 layer, aftermarket same 15mm but only 4 layer... |

But not as fast as Apple's 2TB internal because I think they are only using 2 nand chip. But can achieve 3000MB/s which is already faster than apple own internal 256GB ssd. |

But durability remain question they have done some read write test and temperature remain 55+- should be safe i think. This post has been edited by shyan90's: Dec 31 2024, 08:53 PM |

Why not just order online since it will just take few days to deliver? Just bought an Ipad Pro yesterday to replace my 7 years old unit, ordered online too becoz of the education pricing. Delivery expected within a week. Redundant liked this post
