QUOTE(Cynox @ Jan 2 2025, 09:46 AM) Why not just order online since it will just take few days to deliver? Just bought an Ipad Pro yesterday to replace my 7 years old unit, ordered online too becoz of the education pricing. Delivery expected within a week. QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Jan 2 2025, 10:10 AM) frankly speaking mac mini always no stock since early model. physical store don't keep many unit on this. Online is better option Yea made my order online yesterday after hunting at 3 outlets and luckily did not drive all the way to TRX... Delivery ETA on 13/1 - 20/1...

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Jan 2 2025, 06:11 PM) most likely they stop production, collect order and produce in 1 go I dun think they will stop production if there is no ready stock, especially now even base specs unit also out of stock. The Mac Mini M4 really appeal to many new users, including myself. It is my first ever Mac, although i do have a MacBook Air some time back. Its capability and affordable price really a no-brainer for anyone looking to buy a general use daily desktop, excluding for gaming of course.

A very capable daily desktop, also great for light gaming since I still play starcraft and c&c generals nowadays lol

QUOTE(Redundant @ Jan 3 2025, 11:09 AM) So far I've tried Path of Exile, while it ran smooth but crashes a lot, Batman Arkham Knight through whisky, smooth as butter. Prince of persia the new one, native game, smooth as butter. Resident Evil Village native, smooth 60fps at 1440p. all on base mac mini.

While I really like the new Mac mini's size, I miss the ports of the previous Mac mini. I am currently running a M2 Pro and I have 4 USB-C and 2 USB-A ports. Say what you will but USB-A is still useful to me - I still have many USB-A peripherals - Sound Blaster Katana X speakers, Stream Deck, printer, fingerprint key. Sure, I can use a hub but sometimes, it is just so convenience to have it on the computer itself.

Now after upgrading, I use a USB C dock with 2 USB A and USB C port along with HDMI, sd card. Works great though only 10gbps. But I do lose 1 thunderbolt port. Only using 1 usb 4 device so still ok.

Once you connect 3 monitors into it, you will find that you don't have enough. Unless the monitor comes with a hub. Then maybe, still ok.

I think there is no issue here. 1 HDMI to 1 monitor, another USB-C to monitor if the monitor supports it, 2nd USB-C connects my hub has HDMI to another monitor so a total of 3 monitors. 1 more TB4 port for a USB4 enclosure and my dock includes 1 USB-C, 2 USB-A. Also, the front now has 2 USB-C 10Gbps ports. Unless you have so many TB4 devices, then you should invest in a TB4 dock. Sometimes there is no way to cheap out.

Steam need to pay is it? hi, bro, do you know the way to change/fix the screen resolution to say FHD? My VMware session now is always set at 1024 x 768. I want to set it to at least 1920x1080. If I stretch the windows, it will just resize but no change in resolution. Windows remote desktop got a place to fix the remote session at specify resolution. Can't find the same for this VMware. Thanks in advance.

Just to update regarding display issues and scaling for external display. I bought Dell S2722QC and confirmed betterdisplay really works to make font sharper. It is significantly sharper using hiDPI settings at 2560x1440. Calibrated the display using Spyder colorimeter and manage to get 100% sRGB, 81% Adobe RGB and 85% of P3. Delta E average at 0.87. Not bad actually for the color gamut and accuracy. Brightness not so much at 320Nits max after calibration. I think it is bang for the buck monitor for those who want to purchase one.

If my memory serves me right; You will need to install VMware Tools, that should allow you to select custom resolutions as well as support for window resizing https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/art...usion-virt.html
