may i know what difference between Maybank Amex and Amex Charge Card ?

I thought the basic MBB amex is also charge card right ?

So the turbo point and etc all talking about here is on the charge card right ?

I found other than charge card, amex credit card is at least gold n above and super high requirement

Actually Amex is very widely accepted in Malaysia but their fees are 1% higher than Visa/MC so most Malaysian merchants being cheapskates/profit conscious prefer Visa/MC.

Diners is useless although I have to admit some of their offers are pretty interesting.

Long live Diners rclxm9.gif

Longest card I ever had, works great in Japan and unmatchable when you flash it

Still waiting for their carte blanche version to hit these shores tongue.gif

Since you asked so nicely, the answer to your questions are as follows :-

MBB Amex ie. those which carries the MBB Logo are Credit Card while Amex personal cards are normally charge card with the exception of their recently launched Platinum Credit Card, go figures rclxub.gif

Yes, turbo points are for the charge cards

Actually same requirement, just different positioning ie. marketing strategy tongue.gif as a matter of fact, the benefits for a Visa/Master are normally better than the regular Amex cards

Well, when i got my platinum Amex CC, it was a pleasant surprise that they gave me a free Prestige (Shangrila Membership) card. It is worth RM500 that comes with vouchers, etc.

I do not really know how i qualify for it but im pretty happy w the benefits i get out of it. The 2x points and the platinum rewards (10x points) is great as well. Or it so happen to be at places i shop and eat la. laugh.gif

Visa and Master is more widely used but ill always try to use my amex first. smile.gif

Because yesterday I was hesitated to give the cashier my Visa or AMEX.

Ended up, I gave her my Visa. I do know some CIMB merchant accepts AMEX like Giant, Sunshine.

How about Kedai Tenaga?

Of course, swiping with AMEX offers double TP compared to Visa.

Just make sure you never ever use Amex on overseas transactions. Their rates are all time high plus an additional 2.5% commission on top of that. tongue.gif
