QUOTE(Shadowguardian @ May 14 2008, 02:19 AM) 1. Yes. basically if you dont wish to transfer points to partner frequent flyer, just opt for the non frequent traveler option. 2. Yes. No enrollment= no points =) its only rm25 p/a and points are evergreen 3. Due to the outweight benefits , all AMEX platinum cards are fee paying cards regardless of credit or charge =) Thanks QUOTE(Shadowguardian @ May 14 2008, 03:00 AM) What makes AMEX special are the wide arrange of benefits & recognition whenever you go,attractive rewards and a world class service to all card holders Would your card provider call you up to ask if you are okay or in need of assistance in the event of natural disaster struck the country that you're visiting? Would your other card provider go to the extend of charting a helicopter/flight to rescue/transport card holders that was stranded in a foreign country due to political turmoil/nautral disaster? Well AMEX does ..how i know? i did the calls ocassionally lol True. In US and some countries in Europe, AMEX is often regarded as the card for high society and is seen as more prestigious than other cards such as VISA, Mastercard etc.

Hi, recently i applied for an amex card via maybank. Do they ALWAYS come with 2 cards?
Or maybank just like doing that? (I applied for a gold card earlier last year and i got two cards as well)
Now i have to cancel two cards. haih. or maybe i should just let it expire on its own.

@Gary1981, U meant strict, not straight is it?! *grins*
@gunnerboy, I read about the Amex Membership Rewards and know it's a separate program from MBB TreatPoints - how do U enrol into it and is it worth enrolling in? How come I never received any communication material asking me to enrol into it?

How come I never received any communication material asking me to enrol into it? Amex Membership Rewards is different from MBB points. For some Amex charge cards you're automagically enrolled, not sure about your credit card. There is a charge though so beware of that to begin with. http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/p...41,18034,00.asp to find out more about enrollment. I've looked through the catalog, I personally don't think it's any better (or worse) compared to the regular MBB points but that's just me.

@tishaban, It's just additional benefits and I'm not even sure what those benefits are. Yeah I read that too but that was before I applied for my Amex CC.
The Amex CC welcome pack didn't mention anything about having to re-enrol; I believe the discount benefits are still applicable *shrugs* Ain't gonna be too bothered; still trying to find ways of filling up my quota [perhaps I should stand by the cashier @ Machines *grins*]

@gunnerboy, Yeah those are the general benefits; also I heard the 10X bonus points is ONLY applicable for those holding the Amex Platinum. Also, these Platinum merchants [or whatever they are called] are quite limited; hard to spend $ at those places *grins* Another thing - we aren't asking about the MBB Treat Points (2x points given for Amex purchases) but the actual Amex Rewards Program that is run by Amex

@pmsoo, If U don't want the card then cut it off and return it to the bank The Amex Membership Rewards program has 2 options; a Traveller option and a non Traveller option - there is also a basic fee to join the program so U might want to check if those benefits are worth the annual fee [I think it's RM50] @tishaban, Thanks - I stumbled into the information whilst trying to get the Call Centre contact number *grins* Got the information I needed
