@Dozz,
Maybe MBB can't approve it for U cause Ur oredi holding the higher level card? From what I know, banks aren't allowed to issue 2 Visas to a person. I only assume the same works for Amex cards tongue.gif

Btw have U decided on whether ur going to cancel ur Amex Plat or what?!

At first i worry about this problem too, but a friend of mine who is working with AMEX told me there is no such restriction. Anyway, i will call them up again later today and see what they say.

I am wondering if they have any records we have registered for this 8X. To me it's just sending SMS and receiving a confirmation SMS, but in their records, how sure is it we have registered...

This morning I did call them to check my application too tongue.gif Their system shows my application pending my supp IC which I did refax to them last week and since the person handling my case was on leave can't check further. So I asked why can't they check with my Charged Card data as the supp is the same and was informed that AMEX CC and Charged Card are two different department. Well that explains why the Charged Card CS people are more curteous and "better".

I did receive confirmation reply after I sms, however I have subsequently deleted it and got no record of it sweat.gif
Don't worry lah, it should be in the system but you can always call them and reconfirm.

Bro, congrats on you AMEX Plat (charged card?) AF waiver rclxms.gif What string you had to pull to get the waiver? Mind sharing how much you spend on your Plat for the last year. If they start giving AF waiver for Plat I might just ask them for an upgrade (that is if my member since stays the same).

Aiyah, I thought Charged Card as he applied for Gold CC. Kind of odd for Amex to allow having both Gold and Plat CC.

In fact i have Amex Kris Flyer, Plat and Charge card with them. There is no limitation on how many card u could have, as long as the payment history isnt too ugly, i guess shouldnt be a problem.

You are lucky one because it's difficult to get AF waiver for Amex Plat charge or credit card, according to one of my friends working in banking industry. Btw, you apply for Amex gold cc while having Amex Plat cc? Do update us on the result of your application if you receive the cc.

Now that Dozz has successfully got his annual fee for the AMEX Platinum credit card waived. I guess the next to try would be Tinkerbel biggrin.gif

If the AF for Amex Plat is waivable, this will definitely boost its business as most of the existing visa and mastercard Plat cardholders are reluctant to downgrade themselves to own an Amex gold card. A good news!

Agreed as I share your sentiments and perhaps part of your statistics. Dozz's case could be a unique one so I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

I think my application for the latest Amex Express Gold CC is approved. I can see this in my M2u

xxxx-xxxxxx-009xx American Express Gold Credit Card

Applicant #90+ ? I recall the last digit is check-digit smile.gif

Note: Not to confused with the Maybankard Amex Gold.

Seriously speaking, for the moment Amex Gold CC is better for people like me who does not play golf, dine at Shangarila often and spend money at merchants that give 10X rewards. As you all know Gold Amex CC 5X MR for purchases of groceries & petrol and have auto AF beats the Plat card. I would prefer to use Amex Gold CC over any of my Plat CC simply because of the 5X reward points and I don't consider it a downgrade. But if AMEX do waive AF for Plat charge card I would definately ask for upgrade for "shiok sendiri" feeling wink.gif

What you guys gonna do with the rewards points earned? For me, i would only transfer to frequent flyer program and redeem free ticket for travel smile.gif

Hey dude, wish to ask is it a better way rather than gathering point via KrisFlyer card?
May I know how many reward points can be converted to frequent flyer point? 1 to 1 kah? hehe
Also the frequent flyer program is under which airline alliance one? hehe thx
