it's not as bad as it looks. my first glance at the map when i was there, wahlau, almost fainted. but after you look closely actually is not really that much harder to decipher which line to go and which station to get off.

It's difficult to find money changers in Tokyo and the rate in KL is very close to market rate. So no point changing to US$ 1st..furthermore, the Money changer rate in Haneda airport really teruk!

It's Koyoshi, being featured in Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation. My mind is boggling when he popped in the abalone sushi and he said "wait till the producer sees the bill, its $40 USD per piece."

dont ever think about changing in Japan. i change USD to Yen in OSAKA and the rates are so highhh.
it is even cheaper for you to change USD to Ringgit and then Ringgit to Yen in Malaysia.

Just to share my situation

in Malaysia: i need RM37.03 to get 1000yen
in Osaka: i need RM42-RM44 to get 1000yen.

tells alot.

Most probably typo. Instead of 37.30 typed 37.03. haha.. Anyway, the best Money changer rates also surely above Bank Negara wan lah.. so if currently BNM trading at 38.13.. You will never find anyone selling below BNM rate. The best probably 38.6 to 38.8 right now
