Hi guys, I will be going to Japan on 12/3 - 21/3, and need some advice on my schedule, as follows:

12/3 – Arrive at Osaka airport
13/3 – Kyoto
14/3 – USJ
15/3 – Tokyo
16/3 – Tokyo Disneyland
17/3 – Osaka Namba, Aquarium, Nara
18/3 – Kobe, Himeji, Osaka Castle
19/3 – Snowboard
20/3 – Hiroshima
21/3 – Fly back to Malaysia

is it ok? I'm planning to go to USJ and Disneyland on the weekdays hoping to get a shorter queue on rides.

My base will be in Kyoto, but will stay in Tokyo for 2D1N.

and is there any other things that I need to settle before going there other than the Visa and the JR Pass?

Thank you.  notworthy.gif

look like you have a very tight schedule on your japan holiday, which you need to RUN not walk.
you are going with travel agent or backpack ?

i hope you have taken the transport fee and time travel into consideration when doing this itenery.
u arriving at kansai airport, and you straight to Kyoto, then you are coming back to osaka on 3rd day then travel to tokyo, then back to osaka, then Nara then Kobe then osaka again. all these places you are going and you staying in Kyoto only ?

actually im going to osaka on May for 6 days.
i will be staying in osaka for first 2 days and then go to kyoto for 1 night, then back to osaka hotel till 6th day.
my travel expenses should around at 4000yen

there are travel pass you can use.
Kansai thru pass
osaka unlimted pass

My mistake, actually my base will be in Osaka, and my friend will be taking me for the tour in Japan (so consider an unofficial travel agent biggrin.gif), our mode of transport includes his car, trains and feet, hehe..

I'll reconfirm with my friend again regarding the itinerary, and my budget is around RM5000-RM7000 for the whole 10 days.

Thanks, so I'll just need to buy the 1 week JR pass then right? because we are going to use my friend's car for the 3 remaining days.

Thank you very much for all the replies, feel free to add some more advice if there's any. notworthy.gif

What's the best accommodation that one can find in Tokyo that is reasonably priced (budget) and convenient to get to anywhere in the city (tourist places for first time visitor) ?

Any list of suggestions/ recommendations/ personal favourites? smile.gif

Convenience will be Keio Plaza Shinjuku but not budget.
Or you can choose any cheap hotel within 5 mins walking distance to MRT.

Haha, Only girls/ladies worried about fashion.. Similar questions also posted in Seoul/Korea thread.

Just wear as you like-lah.. In Seoul you will be surprise how simple are the Korean dressed during the winter. Much simple than Chinese mainland or Taiwanese.. Jean, sport shoe/leather shoes + down jacket. For those richer folks probably high heel winter boots & etc...But hi-heel winter boot so common in Taiwan & Pearl river deltas but not so in Seoul..they are so down to earth style..So I think Japan should be even simple and almost similar to Seou from those winter photos posted here...

Cannot just simply wear as i like le.
We are talking about Japan now who is at the top in fashion.
I dont want to be like those mainland people going to Japan and become the 'different' among Japanese.
It would great help if anyone that been to Tokyo during winter to post some of the photos here.
Thanks!

It just reminded me of my last trip to Seoul, when local M'sian very stylish hi-heel winter boot anf full winter fashion but when I stepped down in Seoul..most of the folks there wearing so simple haha..Those tourist/M'sian are the one really odd biggrin.gif ...However, if you go those Chinese cities esp Giangzhou, Zhuhai or even Taipei..OK-lah..They are the one really fashioneble..hi-heel boot everwhere in chinese cities, HK & eben in Taipei although the temperature there so mild..In Seoul..simple..winter cheapo boot man..haha

If below 5C btter wear but if you can stand, no need lor..Even my wife ~ 8C in Beijing Nov also kenot stand liao. BTW, not snowing does not mean it will not be cold.. Dry & cold wth strong wind, even a reported 8C can dropped to ~ zero if strong wind that time. There was one Morning in Seoul, during Dec 2010, temperature dropped to ~minus 12C & wth wind ~ minus 15C..but no snow at all..so dry & cold
