My black 2.5Gb black skyworth router suddenly faulty. The PON light blinking continuously. Looks like the optic port has an issue.
I made a report, unifi promise to replace tomorrow morning. For now I connect directly the optic cable to my Asus router.

One question, will there be any hidden charge for the replacement? Or should I directly tell the technician that I don’t need any assistance in setting up the router. Thank you
*
How do you connect your optical cable directly to your router? 🤯

If that's the case, then port out. As Rm119 consider cheap for Unifi 500mbps plan. If want to further reduce cost, U Home 5G is the solution.
Any proof? Seems like all heresay.
As long as Unifi infra in your area do not suffer from frequent breakdown, then should be fine. It's just like how some people saying Maxis fibre not good, but we don't hear them complain about international congestion like Unifi. But when infra break down, then of course TM will not prioritise stepchild.

if you can get RM119 for unifi stick to it . SWU is not worth for RM119 because they want you increase subscription. is like candy lure you

Anyone has problems accessing MAS' (malaysiaairlines.com) website via Unifi today? I can access on mobile data but not accessible on unifi WiFi.

I tried a few different devices, restarting router, forgetting WiFi AP and re-adding AP and it's the same

I would say generally their International routing is not as good as TM.

But if what you usually use is mostly those mainstream content like YouTube, Netflix and etc then it's fine

After Astro submitted the transfer request to UniFi, UniFi called my sister earlier to retain her.

Unifi counter-offered RM 90 for 500Mbps (to match Astro bundled plan) with free 600 minutes. The Ultimate pack will be retained too. On top, they will give one year of Disney Hotstar subscription. This will tie her up for another 24-month contract.

My sister is requesting free months, and the CS said she would check with her management. Let's see when she calls back again next week. My sister forgot to ask what happens after 24 months: Is the discount perpetual, or is it back to RM 129 (what she is paying currently)? She will ask next week.

I know and it is not an issue since my mom still watches the Astro anyway.
Looks like after this counter offer, we will stick back to UniFi. Let's see.

The counter offer can be a good reason to make fix price nationwide for 500Mbps@RM90 .. no need Mr Gobind to do it.

* I also watch astro connected to unifi, no problem.

** I use Fiberhome SR120-A as a 5Ghz wifi connected 20meter to my wife cousin's Skyworth GN630V 100Mbps unifi. The astro box under my wife's name connects by LAN to my SR120-A & the box requirements is only 30Mbps internet. Still get full speed of 100Mbps for RM40/mth I pay him.

*** wifi repeater (can use my own SSID), mesh (same SSID as host).

I mean to throw away Unipi's crappy Dlink and use my router as a standalone. To date, I don't think there is an easy way to do that?

I'm using the sfp+ port now with an rj45 module. 😪

Sorry. You should mention early either it's optical converter device or copper sfp module. I only imagine the blank sfp slot. My bad, I just a paddy farmer. Sorry.
