I guess TM realized there are other uses for custom DNS than just prawn.

Such as bypassing their crappy, overloaded DNS.

He just admitted to the whole world there is no due process in website blocking in Malaysia.
Everything ikut suka aku.
I wonder how many of those charged under MCMC Act is actually found guilty in the end.

From his statement alone, all the existing blocking should be removed be rendered illegal government interference.

If I am ISP with big legal team, I will definitely bring this to court.

Most if not all mobile operators already enabled IPv6 by default. For fixed line broadband, TM has IPv6 as an option if you want it enabled. I don’t know if other operators also has it as an option

why? suddenly i get few random disconnect on discord, voice chat, web browsing, weird connection lost for 1-2 secs, and feel connection response restored, fast like usual

then go try blocked site and it's working without any setting

I truly miss the days of ADSL. As long as the registered line works.. just setup the dang modem. Nope can't access the HUawei since I dunno how (never had to since I thought all logins was controlled by the Asus and that was all I needed. Learn something new after 7 years 🤪). Due to my circumstances.. I can't do any more troubleshooting and follow-up because the family & friends need the internet and server running. As long as it works stable for now. Have to go on assignment for 2 weeks. Can only troubleshoot after. 😖

Now all my well crafted ad-blocking and family safety protocols broken because our friendly govt servants want more oversight.... 😖😖

adsl days were terrible. latency was so damn high. also u paid a lot for slow dl/ul ontop of that. i don't miss those days other than lack of dns poison, but we had that even when ftth was available. it's only recently this became a problem cry.gif

Hear hear! Those of you who never experienced the pain of EXTREME SCREAMYX SLOWDOWNS will never know how bad it was before Unifi expanded its coverage from around 2013 onwards. Unifi came into being in 2010 but coverage was extremely limited at first.

Here is the first very Extreme Screamyx Slowdown thread on this very forum, made in 2008.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/746285

The late 2000s to mid 2010s (from 2008 to 2015) were horrific for wired ADSL internet costumers with no fiber alternatives, so desperate were people to escape the painfully slow TM network infrastructure that they resorted to subscribing to wireless alternatives like P1 WiMAX and YES 4G.

Remember the potong campaigns from P1 WiMAX which turned out to also be a POS once their towers and infra got over subscribed?

Been through Jaring, Streamyx 256k era... I consider those as the darkest day of internet service in Malaysia
TM sent people to my taman around January 2016 to collect names for pulling fiber, we waited till mid 2020 to actually use the service
My experience of using ADSL? Everytime a lightning strike nearby causes the internet to DC, it would also DC after heavy rain
Ping is super high, I get 120+ms ping playing BF3 in Singapore's servers
Downloading stuff took ages, highly likely you'll get corrupted files and when downloading stuff you cant use your internet for anything else
Yeah, I'm still not happy with Unifi now due to their bad routings and congestions at night...
But they are nothing when you compare it with ADSL era...

Indeed. I don't miss the P1 days. Pretty decent at first but became a laggy mess after they overprovisioned their network.

We made the leap to Unifi after 1 year of pain with P1.

Even roadside jeruk nangka sellers have more brains than these bufoon TM engineers.

Maybe they hire some intern to do it.

Then the only way is to turun kan dia dari position menteri komunikasi la

Cukup la earlier this year all purchases from oversea kena stupid 10% tax below RM500

Now kena like this

Indonesian also never charged Low Value Goods tax below certain threshhold and never block DNS usage (only Default DNS blocked certain website)
*
The 10% low value goods is from previous PN government, which the current government just conveniently implement.

Hhaha, I came from Tmnet prepaid 1515 then streamyx 512kbps for many years. Then upgrade to 2mbps because my area does not support higher speed. Only subscribe Unifi lite 10mbps in 2017 the moment they activate Unifi on my taman.
