Well,

I recently moved to Maxis fiber and hear my friend got counter offerred for RM159/mth 1Gbps 6 month free bill. Same offer as Maxis but with lousy international routing... rather move to Maxis since currently now using it but kind of missed unifi Public IP compared to Maxis one.

Maxis Public IP seems a bit buggy trying to access my router via the Asus App but overall at least I'm satisfied that i will not need to use VPN for slow internet connection.

Before FSU, Unifi upgraded the internet speed for some 800Mbps user to 2Gbps at no additional cost.

Still speed issue Is back after 30 days with Black Box bridge mode. Capping 300mbps down 70mbps up but subscribed 1Gbps .Called TM reset port also issue doesn't solved. Tomorrow evening technician come over to check.
Either black box is culprit or outside issue will be known.
Also I'm mention them after black box this issue happened not with old Fiber home modem

Yes, I think since yesterday or so. Shah Alam area port problem due to cable cut

So even my Pocong f5 connect nearest deco 75 also download only around 100. At best 300 something

I have upgrade my unifi from 300Mbps to 500Mbps. They also upgrade the router using skyworth that combine GPON and modem. But from the day they installed the modem, my connection are not stable. got high latency and also time out when ping to google dns from pc and other device. but when ping from the router itself looks like okay no latency and time out. is it because of the modem or the device.

You deserve the right for 2gbps as the price you are paying right now is very unreasonable. But you need to check the package name have any - Pro Upgrade stated or not. If not, mean they upgrade you to 2gbps with 24 months contract.

TM technician came and said this white box (not sure what it called) is broken and this is not their responsibility and they will not help to fix. Anyhow, they did provide other contractor number so that we can contact them.
Would like to double check, is it true? I thought this box is installed by TM?

Yes, if they can detect the fiber signal from the pole to the white box, it means the issue happens after the white box, likely with the cable inside your premises. Anything after the white box is beyond their responsibility, and you will need to hire your own contractor to replace the fiber cable. They might provide you with the contact information for contractors, but in my area, they often refuse to do so even though they have the contact. The TM gave you the contractor contact is actually helping you already. If not, you totally no idea who you can contact to fix the cable.

I've had my cables damaged by rats in the past, so I asked them to add a tube to protect the fiber.

Just have them come and replace the cable. Prices vary; for your reference, I paid 250 back in 2018 and about 180 three months ago. But the total cost depends on the length and size of your house. Try to negotiate.

Hi,

Just went to TMpoint to terminate my Unifi and they said new Stay with Unifi promo started yesterday.

1Gbps for RM159/mth 6 month free bill.

With the bad routing, every night... Imma come back to Unifi once it is better. Now on Maxis fiber for 2 years and will see any improvement by then
