Agreed, it's much better tonight.
However, it's still not as good as the pre-COVID era where everything loads instantly. After COVID, it seems like they've never really fixed the broken submarine cable.

Excited for my speed boost tomorrow! Even though it won't do squat for latency, hey, it's free! LOL laugh.gif

Would be better if folks state your type of residency, area.

Landed vs condo with either users hogging p2p might also cause issue.

My. View is different cause I have no issues being in landed.
Same goes for my mobile teclo different iso but as everyone says, they are riding tm hsbb framework too isn't?

Since there is no dedicated thread for vpn,

What VPN is recommended on pay to use basis? Monthly, not annually. Only plan to use it esp when unifi is fucking up like this week.

it appears currently ONR is capable of 2.5G, I did reverse engineer on V1.1.0 and it has command to enable, but firmware wont let usable:
There will be Firmware Update for existing, what I been told. Hopefully got.

my experience helping people using 2.5G PON Stick is quite horrible because hard to get it right at certain OLT's

not all OLT give same OMCI Info (ME 84, 171, 277)

also, TM held this 2.5G because some OLT especially Fiberhome OLT have performance issue on LAN 1 (Bridge and Router Mode)

I hope this fix performance issue on Fiberhome OLT

I believe DSCP and Priority Queue not reliable on non Fiberhome ONT

Note: PM me if want to delete the leak screenshot
*
Will the new ONR be available for 800Mbps - 1Gbps free upgrade users as well ? Or 2 Gbps only

If you're concerned about privacy, I'd recommend building your own VPN with SG Server/VPS. (I prefer OVH SG ,since it is private peering with TM)
But it you just need normal vpn and alot of worldwide country vpn server to use,i would recommend NordVPN (thousands of server on worldwide)

I used Nord before, quite good but their pricing is more towards long term and also Nord has a lot of data leaks of your own nord account. I see a lot of Nord accounts getting leaked nowadays.

For those that got the speed boost, does your bill still show your previous speed? eg Unifi 100/300/500mbps?

I tried engaging with Unifi CS and they've claimed that my speed have been "boosted", however, during my speedtest, it's basically the speed I've been getting all along for the past few years prior to the "boost", and my bill is still showing the old speed..

Would going to TM point help in this case, or perhaps contact their CS once more?

The name of the plan you originally signed up for.

Your devices/hardware can take the fasters speed boost or not first

That's why i said Self-Built VPN is the privacy way to prevent data leak.
But the disadvantage is u need to know how to setup the vpn and the cost for maintaining the server is not low.
While it is possible to share the vpn with others for cost recovery, and also the server or bandwidth might be abuse and fully utilize at full time by others.
Better share with trusting person.

With OVH SG Value - 250mbps up and 250mbps down should be enough lah.. tongue.gif (500G per month)

The latest VLE-2 is best for the price with 500mbps,but currently out of stock. unsure.gif

Edited:
You can also find some yearly VPS that come with 10G port. (1G server also a lot of selection can be choose)
(around 20-50usd per year while offer ,but routing is not good over the year, sometime good sometime bad routing)

Pinjam from TIME thread. I guess TM dont have the balls and integrity to announce something like this cause their CS is non existent.

QUOTE
Based on the update from our tech support, currently, we are experiencing a latency issue that is impacting our network performance.
This is due to a fault in the submarine cable, which is a critical component of our international data transmission infrastructure.
Our technical team is actively working with international partners to address this problem.

We anticipate that the repair work on the submarine cable will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
During this period, you may notice slower than usual internet speeds or intermittent connectivity issues.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.

I think it is best to go straight to MCMC and put the reason TM live chat takes forever to get support due to long Q.

A rented VPS advantages are performance (if you’re willing to pay) and security (if you harden the base Linux install properly). In terms of privacy*, not really since;
a. They will log everything at hypervisor level.
b. They have all your payment/cc info.
c. It’s still a single hop VPN, so correlation is relatively easy based on timestamps and bandwidth usage.
*exceptions would be truly anonymous hosting providers like 1984 Hosting or Njalla, but you will lose any performance advantage because the servers are located so far away.

Not sure if this service interruption is related to your area or not. But in Unifi Alert, there is a service interruption around Kundang, next to your area

Damn I thought fibre cables are rarely ever stolen but I guess some people are dumb enough I suppose.

If anyone needs VPN recommendations, I'm currently using Proton VPN.
