Anyone got the mail from GXBank that GX Card details may be compromised and they’re automatically blocking online tx for the cards?

They’re even asking me to cancel and replace my card (albeit free).

Doesn’t really inspire confidence, but then again, only a hundred or so left in the account.

Yea, me kena last month. I cancelled old card, paid 12 MYR for new card and CS said fee will be reimbursed in September. Today last day September still no money in yet...

compromised card is very very normal.

gxbank took the initiative to contact you, inform you of potential risk, took the action to block online txn, then offer to rebate the card fee.

all these are already good actions taken by gxbank to safeguard you.


p/s: there will never be 100% security of any payment cards. it's how the cases being mitigated and managed, no total elimination.

I mean, it’d be great if they actually did that but seeing my card on the app, it wasn’t blocked as promised on the email and from what the other user mentioned, no reimbursement after a month lol.

Not exactly great execution and nice to know that card details being compromised is “very very normal”. Noted.

Happen to me today also. So proceed to cancel the card and reapply new one. Funny thing is that it is mentioned that will be charged RM12 fees and no mention of waiver as claimed. However I read also that if we have minimum fund of RM1k for 30 days after applying new card then it will be waived.

received the compromised card email yesterday. What if i cancelled the card and decide not to request a new card? is it remained cancelled in the system?

my GX card also kena fraud. Reported to GX and they cancelled the card immediately.
Although they mention that replacement fee will be reimbursed, but I don't want their card anymore.

My GX card is frozen all the time except when i wanna use it. After using it then i freeze it again.
