Given what you said, I'm extremely lucky that my domestic helper from the Philippines didn't get her visa knocked back & in fact, got it approved within days of my application.

I wrote that wife and I are PRs, and we wanted her to come with us to see our home in Australia & to give her a good holiday!

Having said that, I did attach documentation to show that she has a valid employment contract with us in Singapore, and we definitely have enough funds to fund her stay with us in Australia.

So, I dunno... maybe people from the Philippines aren't as prone to jumping planes as Malaysians, so they are granted a visa with greater ease?

The Philippines are not eligible for 601, so by applying for the 600, due diligence has been done.

Those who are requested to submit documents, don't assume you will be rejected. Be honest and open about your reasons, and they will assess case by case.

@Sadly, submit all your documents, including an invite (or cover letter) by your brother. They are not unreasonable. Despite 3/4 being called for further documents, the majority will get the visa, I think the reject rate is less than 5% of all applications.

Update 1: my brother (Oz PR)  bought a house in Melbourne and wants us to come soon for house warming. He is also having engagement party with fiancé (Oz Citizen)

I applied for my parents and myself, they both instant approved and I need to give supporting documents 💀💀

Going to be hard to prove I have enough money, as I am a fresh graduate and finished most of my own money in the uk lmao

Wondering if can use parents bank income with letter that they agree to sponsor bla bla. I do have property in Cyberjaya but it isn’t even completed yet 💀💀

If I can get my job application through by next week will use that too!

Does anyone know if there is a timeframe to give them all of this information before automatically rejects itself?

I am not sure when my new job will be giving the employment contract 💀

Honestly don’t care if I can cancel the visa, just don’t want it to be rejected as it’ll f with visiting other countries

Having UK brp and 10 year American visa did not help me so beware others too

It’s very easy for you to get the Aus visa if you have a sibling staying there. Also state in your application that the reason you are going is to attend your brother’s engagement with your parents. My kid managed to get her visa approved two consecutive years. Once during her last year in uni and another after graduation. The supporting doc she send was her employment letter post graduation. I believe the main point is she has a sibling’s permanent address.

Use parents bank accounts if have FD with 2 names use that.
Use your brother’s address and get a letter stating your expenses will be borne by him during duration of visit, reason and won’t overstay.

Show your new work employment letter and confirmation of leave (shows that you will return)

I get what you’re saying. My point is, what with the excessive number of rejections of the ETA and the uncertainty associated with that rejection, it may be better to put an end to the charade and apply directly for the 600 if the need to travel over there is really that urgent.

Should I re-apply ETA or appeal the current application and submit my mortgage loan document?

I went to Brissie for a week for training. Applied ETA, got rejected but were requested to submit documents. i requested for a letter from my company stating the purpose of my travel and that all my expenses there will be fully paid by the company. Got approved after a week+.

I completely forgot about the visa situation when I booked my flight for sept this year. I believe based on my situation, I have a low chance of approval because I'm now driving grab as my part time income while I am also part time studying. Clearly my grab income is not stable and it's relatively low considering that I'm only doing it part time. Any tips to get my ETA approved based on your experiences?

Assets wise pretty ok, but income wise severely lacking. Maybe I should quickly get employed within the next 2 months then reapply after that 😅

Just hoping and praying that I won't have to burn my tickets, really stupid mistake to make, but what to do.

As many have said, just submit as many supporting documents as you can. Show them your fixed deposits, your house geran and your itinerary in Australia. What else can you do otherwise? Good luck bro!

any family members or friends in australia? if yes, perhaps can list them down when applying for the visa, and perhaps just say one of them is sponsoring you or something lol.

Don't worry la, if DHA wants more documents, most importantly give proof that you have reasons of returning to your home country ie a beautiful wife, ongoing school children, a home deed with mortgage, you mentioned you are currently part time study > this is a good reason - show proof of the course time-table, your fee payment receipts etc etc

As for the travel expenses, some small savings to show will do. How many days is your booked return flight? any relatives, siblings who are currently residing in Aust? Get a letter of invites from them, attest your place of stay (local address), period of stay and will see to your return to your country of origin.

Apply ETA first la, just click on the link for the guidelines in their reply email to know the required documents lo

Common documents list that are applicable for Malaysia from what I see so far for ETA 601's with Request for Further Information.

The wording says "certified copy" but I believe original colour scanned copy works too, at least it worked for me last year (and this year's still pending approval).

No luck to hit the 25% chance and experience instant approval sad.gif second time applying for 601 and both times also were also requested to submit documents. Maybe because I have an ongoing/pending subclass 190 hence cannot instant-approve  sweat.gif

The previous 601 expired dy after having fund times there so planning to do another trip end of the year innocent.gif

Just to update, got my 601 approved today after 11 days (or 8 working days). Now just need good flight / hotel deals brows.gif

Visa about to expire next month. Any possibility to renew without doing from scratch again?

I know last year I submitted all sort of docs.

Not for the ETA (subclass 601)

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getti...ority-601#About

Thanks! Let me check it out, been longing to revisit Hong Kong as well. Hasn't been there since Covid-19.

Haven't quite decided yet actually, was initially considering Perth since it's closer to where I am but haven't planned deeper cause of the whole visa uncertainty / upcoming move / work commitments. Need to find dates to apply leave first laugh.gif

For visitor ETA 601? No renewal provisions as far as I'm aware. Mine lapsed in April and I just reapplied for new ETA again. Has to submit everything again cuz I didn't get the 25% chance of instant approval cry.gif
