This ETA application changed again, I just completed my submission.

Last year was much simpler but this time website is at least clearer.

I have only submitted 14/60 documents with one document each from every section except finances I can provide more details.



Going through this ETA process is like applying for visa.. 

what airline yeah? I seeing Scoot 3k return with 20kg all included

Scoot layover was shorter, on transit SG and 2hours to board to the next plane.

if u want longer layover is cheaper as well

Well, I’m back to Australia again for a month, to enjoy the start of autumn. Last spring, we spent a month driving from Sydney to Melbourne and onward to Tasmania and then back again in our Cayenne.

This trip, I’m keen to put some miles on the 911 garage queen so I might take it to Katoomba or down the coast towards Illawarra. Plenty to do, plenty to see.

But that’s just me.

i travelled to Melbourne in 2019 and applying for the ETA was a breeze then. it's like it'll get approved automatically with minumum document needed. didn't know it's become so troublesome now.

If I am planning for my Australian trip in Dec 2024, how soon should I start applying for my visa?
I don't want to apply too early and then let the few months burn

That's the thing. I don't want to apply visa too early coz if it does get approved fast, then I would burn a few months worth of my visa

But if wait until Sept, then flight ticket will be very expensive by then 

I submitted ETA application on 8th April and until today there is no update. Is the time frame normal? it's has been more than 2 week since I submitted the application

Below are the reason given. I already attached all the document including my payslip epf statement, income tax BE form, asset I own, bank statement. Yet I was rejected

I have considered the evidence submitted in support of the applicant’s circumstances,
financial capacity and commitments in their country of residence.
Following due consideration of this evidence, I am not satisfied the applicant’s personal
circumstances are such that they have sufficient incentive to return to their country of
residence at the end of any stay in Australia.
After considering all the information provided with the application, I am not satisfied the
applicant meets the requirements of clause 601.212(a) or 601.212(b).

I did not submit my employment letter, house mortgage loan document but i did submit my house pintu cukai from DBKL to prove that I own a house. And that house is currently rented out and I have submitted stamped tenancy agreement. but it was still rejected.

Should I re-apply ETA or appeal the current application and submit my mortgage loan document?

Actually my company wanted me to go to our HQ in Melbourne to have training for a month. Due to my colleague visa application was rejected before using business visit a few month back, therefore the bosses asked me to apply under tourist and see if my visa can be approved. But it's still the same. Perhaps getting travel agency to apply for me now is a better choice. I heard people said if I apply under travel agency the chances it get approve is a lot higher.

Travel agencies are no more allowed to apply for ETA on behalf of clients.
It is ok to use a tourist visa, if it's for meetings etc, and no employment or remuneration are done.

Expensive visa….

Pretty sure the company wants to save money and make their staff get ETA on tourist visa so it'll be less cost for them. The employee will bear the consequences though if they get deported and caught lying.
