Thanks! Let me check it out, been longing to revisit Hong Kong as well. Hasn't been there since Covid-19.
Haven't quite decided yet actually, was initially considering Perth since it's closer to where I am but haven't planned deeper cause of the whole visa uncertainty / upcoming move / work commitments. Need to find dates to apply leave first laugh.gif
For visitor ETA 601? No renewal provisions as far as I'm aware. Mine lapsed in April and I just reapplied for new ETA again. Has to submit everything again cuz I didn't get the 25% chance of instant approval cry.gif

Is your visit to Australia just for a holiday? Then Perth is obviously a lot closer to home (I presume you’re somewhere in Malaysia) than the other major capital cities.

We quite like Perth, especially the amazing Mandurah area with their multi million dollar houses that is somewhat reminiscent of the scene over at Sentosa Cove. Except the water is a billion times cleaner and there are actual dolphins that swim with the yachts smile.gif

For now yeah, planning to just catch some breathers while I still can (I'm still based in Malaysia for now). But hard to plan still as there's too much uncertainty due to work commitments hence hasn't penned things down yet. I'll take notes on the Mandurah area!

Do you like stargazing? You can also rent an AirBNB and bring along your best camera &/or binoculars/telescope ... outskirts and away from Perth, the night sky especially on a clear night, is awesome.

polarzbearz - sorry if I sound like someone from Tourism WA, but I really enjoyed my visits there and hope you would too… if you haven’t already been to WA, the usual “loop” would usually involve Perth, Fremantle, Mandurah, Busselton and the Margaret River area, before looping back…

…or if you’re like super adventurous and you love to drive, go down all the way to Albany for whale watching (the season starts June) after the Margaret River, before heading back.

The loop I spoke about bro - plenty to do and see and enjoy at every stop. You’ll need the greater part of 3 weeks to really get the essence of WA as described, and personally winter is the best time to visit! Enjoy bro!

I definitely am interested in stargazing. I was initially planning to do it during my Great Ocean Road @ Victoria trip with friend, but was abit tough as we had different priorities and since my friend was bringing me around I didn't want to trouble them! Still on my bucket list.

Thanks for the suggestions!! Haha I don't mind even if you're from the WA Tourism, gives me plenty of headstart already. I was struggling where to start.

"Not all required evidence has been provided. The department strongly recommends that all required evidence be provided before submitting to assist in processing the application" cry.gif

I've already attached the following documents:

2) 3 months credit Card statement
3) EPF/KWSP 2024
4) Mortgage Loan Statement and SPA
5) 3 months TNB bill
6) Fixed Deposits statements
7) 3 months payslip
8) Scanned passport and IC
9) Letter from Employer confirming employment
10) Approved Leave from Boss
11) Invitation letter from family member in Australia

Apa lagi they mau? Is there any other documents I need to provide?

That's not how it works

When you applied for the 601 ETA, if the feedback is "application cannot be processed", you probably have beenshuffled into the 600 tourist visa stream, which then makes sense if you are getting the "Not all required evidence has been provided. The department strongly recommends that all required evidence be provided before submitting to assist in processing the application" message.

What exactly did you get back from immigration after the 601 application? Take a screenshot of the reply, redacting any PII?

Ah so it is the typical "we want more information" PDF

After creating the ImmiAccount, er, account, did you then continue on the link in the PDF that says "Click on this link: ETA Form"?

Because if you didn't, you end up on the application pathway for a 600.

Yes the UX and UI for the ETA application for Malaysian's pulled for additional processing is very very bad.

This was the message I got when I was applying for a visa (not ETA) for my domestic helper. I think this is for the visa, not ETA. Somehow, you got short circuited to that pathway.

See https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=109239786 and the posts after that

As I said, UX and UI for the ETA application for Malaysian's pulled for additional processing is very very bad.

Makes money for the Australian government when Malaysian's pay AUD190 for the 600 on top of the AUD20 they paid to lodge the 601.

You have to thank the hundreds if not thousands of aeroplane jumpers from Malaysia for this royal mess.

Also, even if you have one empty category, that warning message will still pop anyway so if you're sure you selected the right 601 and submitted everything just click OK. For Malaysians I think most of us will have "Family Register" empty as we dont have this document unlike China or Indonesia.
