Good sharing info on charging cost on roadtrip.
QUOTE(yeapsc73 @ Apr 23 2024, 04:31 PM) Cost and efficiency for day trip from Subang Jaya to Gua Musang. Total Distance: 580km (290km each way) Battery SOC: 100% to 40% from Subang Jaya to Gua Musang, @ 125wh/km Charge at DC Handal Gua Musang 47kW DC: 40% to 90%, 45min, negligible as it is lunch time Battery SOC: 90% to 35% from Gua Musang to Subang Jaya @ 113wh/km Travel time each way: approx 4 hours Car: Tesla Model 3 RWD @ 60kwh battery Charging Cost: DC charging 33kWh @ RM1.3 = RM42.90, actual figure recorded from the charger display Charging Cost: AC charging 43kWh @ RM0.7 (assuming worst rate for residential tariff with RM0.10 TNB surcharge plus SST etc) = RM30.10, already considered charging efficiency of 90% Total Charging Cost = RM73 or 35.6l petrol equivalent Equivalent petrol consumption efficiency: 580/35.6 = 16.3km/l My house is with solar roof so my AC charging cost is much lower as my solar electricity cost is approx RM0.3/kwh, so my actual total charging cost would be lower at about RM55.80 or 27.2l petrol equivalent @ 21.3km/l equivalent petrol efficiency |

The price difference between LR & Performance smaller than expected
Really a tough decision for me Rm24k for that different and performance The only downside of performance variant I can think : -Range -100km -20' Tyre will be nightmare in Malaysia road conditions -Ev road tax( may be government will put very high road tax on performance level ev , to justify the critic from public? ) But for track kaki, This performance price sure will be a damn good deal |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 24 2024, 12:16 PM) Just wait for road tax structure to reveal this month end Range is important for frequent raod trip user Range can be negated with Supercharger 250kw I use LR ,kl - Penang ,avg speed 140kmh Soc left 20% No need charging stop in between So whenever we go Penang ,jb We just charge at hotel car park overnight If with this performance range Sure have to stop and charge at perak area Or drive slower ard 110kmh But then whats the point buying performance variant, end up drive slower than lorry on highway? Hahaha So thats really depends every ppl needs This post has been edited by sansaboy: Apr 24 2024, 01:09 PM |

If you're a car enthusiast then the extra 24k (3.1s, 262 km/h, adaptive dampers, 20 inch rims, performance brakes with red calipers, bucket seat, sportier chassis, track mode customization, carbon fiber spoiler & interior) are worth every penny.
However, if you're just a normal driver then the long range version should suffice. 4.4s are still insane numbers for regular Joes and there is the advantage of the extra 150km of range (by using 18 inch photon wheels) or 101km of range (by using 19 inch nova wheels). Now can't wait for Tesla to announce the acceleration boost package for the long range version hopefully in the not too distant future! This post has been edited by HotshotS: Apr 24 2024, 05:56 PM |

With the free wall charger given by Tesla, how much we have to pay for the installation?
And how to arrange for that? |

AB probably costs RM10,000... RM24k - RM10k... gap is only 14k now LOL. Minus 19" nova... Goes down to RM6,500...However, if you're just a normal driver then the long range version should suffice. M3P price in Malaysia is a steal! AB would come probably after Tesla milked the M3P sales or perhaps eventually released FOC? Anyways something doesn't quite add up. M3LR declared 366kW motor = 490hp (based on original model 3, that is with AB. Without AB is about 390hp). M3P declared 460hp ~ 343kW... less roadtax than M3LR!? I feeling kena con liao Only exception is, if you need that extra range from LR to avoid stopping during your travels... then the LR is worth it over the P. Meh, kena mute all the groups now HotshotS liked this post
