can we charge using normal plug point? i think it has 4mm cable from db
*
I have bought the Tesla 3-pin plug charger (RM1,500 one) and have been using it on normal plug occasionally for the past year when I travel back hometown. The charging is automatically restricted to maximum of 10A, and you can always reduce it to lower amp if deemed necessary.

A few important things to take note when using a regular 13A socket :
- Do not share the socket / use extension
- Best if the socket is 1-to-1 line to the DB box (not shared line with other sockets)
- Monitor the temperature of the socket, plug, and cable. If it’s warm, try to reduce the ampere to 5A~7A.
- Take note of your whole unit total available Amp and run some simple calculations on the total usage. For example, if you are on single phase and multiple air conditionings are running in the night, reduce the charging ampere to lower or stop charging during peak usage hours.

Any recommended window tint shop for Tesla?
I got many quotations from MYR 500 to MYR 3000 for full car tinting but … which is better?

3M are widely acceptable with its quality.
There is ktard doing 3M affiliate with promo code, crystalline @ RM2600 without sunroof, Ceramic series @ RM2200.

Cheaper budget solution can go for 7autospa this coming 1212 sales RM1212 for tint+PPF

if around where you are in KL and Ipoh you have easy access to convenient charging.. can consider switching.
that's how i decided to switch, home/work is my routine, both places can charge, so it works for me.

your concern is real, you do not want to be going out of your way to charge.
*
yeah, i dont want tie to an errand in weekly basis..
ipoh have landed, no worry for charging.
kl have condo, need to find charger.

if only 1 way trip dont have any concern bruce.gif

Just pull the trigger because KL-Ipoh is easy peasy. Easy peasy with my LR AWD, even more easy with the LR RWD. My LR AWD can do a return trip from KL-Ipoh without spirited driving and I'm sure the LR RWD will do better. Even with spirited driving you just need to charge for like 30 minutes at Ipoh before making the trip back to KL comfortably. If you have a landed house, don't even hesitate.

If one day Tesla did actually build SuperChargers at Ipoh then it will be even better. Take a 15-20 minutes charge at SuperCharger is more than enough for a comfortable KL-Ipoh drive with LR RWD.

But I'm not exactly sure what's kind of "spirited drive" you were having. If it's something like all the way 160km/h+, EV might not be so suitable after all. Still doable for 1-way, 2-way not so sure. EV is best driven smoothly under our national speed limit.

my kind of spirited drive is always keeping at right lane, always ensure the lane is not blocked by lane hogger, speed 140-160.
One way drive is more than enough, but not for round trip

If you're staying overnight in Ipoh then no problem at all because the car will always be 100% charged by the time you're ready to head back to KL and you'll reach KL with around 40% SOC remaining with the speed of around 150 km/h. Come next weekend during the journey back to Ipoh you can always charge at any DC chargers ALONG the way for like 15-20 minutes and you're good to go
