Ya,now the LR are make sense again
Long time ago Tesla USA have so call m3P stealth version

Performance with 18' tyre

This is perfect setup for me

I really dislike 20' tyre
puncture and rim problem
Very difficult to find tyre
Very expensive tyre
*
True, that might be one of the reasons why Tesla China opted for a 19' wheel set up for their Model 3 Performance.

Seems like the Performance has had a price increase in most major markets since launch. Suspect it’s coming here too soon.

That should be clear enough. Thanks. I was thinking to get a crossover / SUV for higher ground clearence. Sometimes you wont know when you'll encounter some terrible road condition or excessively high speed bumps. But my budget (<180k) meant its gonna be an ICE probably.... EV SUV with good range are all above 200k. Model Y SR can be considered also but range much lesser than M3 SR and its gonna be replaced by Juniper sooner or later

Btw you staying landed or high rise? I'm staying high rise now and its another factor for me on whether to get EV also...

For the downpayment is it minimum 10% as with other cars?

So far have navigated massive pot holes and gravel/dirt roads with no issues. I'm just more of a sedan/hatch kinda guy. Have no need for space or the ground clearance.
But very much a personal preference. I found the Y to be too darn massive for my liking.

Until i kena some bad flooding la, then I'll probably change my tune.

Landed . Personally, I would not even consider an EV if i don't have access to home charging.
Relying on public charging to me is the equivalent of needing petrol stations, and still too few and far between to be useful.

Part of the whole EV appeal for me is to come to a fully charged car whenever i want to go out.

Yes, minimum down is 10% same with ICE cars

Yes, charge overnight - how long does it take to fully charge a Tesla battery using AC?

Approximate a full charge at 6hours. Back to home, plug in, wake up, on-the-go. Then the charges for a full charge are around RM30-RM40 depend on your tariff.

You don't use your car till 0% and then charge.
Most case is you use till 60% (from your commute to office) then charge to 90%.

Assume battery at 100% health, charging from 0-100 on 11kW AC will take the following time.

M3LR | 77.6 kW / 11 kWh = 7 hours
M3SR | 60 kW / 11 kWh = 5 hours 30 minutes

For me, I use my car to below 45%, will charge to 75%. And even when I'm charging, my charger is scheduled so the car is at 75% just before I go out from home. Software does it automatically after config. Side note, I also charge at just 7kW (10A 3P), this is about 96% efficiency on the OBC. Any lower it drops in efficiency, and higher just well... charge finish faster but since I do it overnight no rush.

EV adoption is gonna come to a standstill at some point unless there's amendments to legislation that requires all MC to allow high rise owners to install their own chargers

My condo has bomba/electricity design issue to allocation each level/unit installation request

hence they focus on one public charging row at ground floor occupancy emptied indoor visitor car park for all the residence usage.

Better than nothing, plus the pros is, can park ground floor easy access when you charging. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

not really, been using MY for 1.5 months, never charged overnight at all, when i reach home i just charge and will be full before bed time, it is sufficient IMO unless you use heavy user and use 80-90% and reach home only at night

To be honest, I’ve never been moved by the premise of an EV. When I was deciding on the second car in Australia (after I’d firmed the purchase for the Cayenne), I tested the Taycan GTS before I even tried the 911. I was trying to “future proof” my purchase but I ended up with the 911 in the end anyway.

Looking back, I am glad I made that decision to go for a Dino Juicer. The newer generation (facelifted Taycan) blows the old one out of the water cold. Like rendering the old generation immediately obsolete.

Batteries charge faster, has a wider operating temperature and range, lasts longer for further real world distances difference and to add salt to injury, weigh less than the old Taycan’s!

And this is only the facelift. What’s gonna happen when the new Taycan comes out in 4 years’ time?

I’ll hedge my bets for now and enjoy my dinosaurs until the inevitable - and if Porsche still makes EVs that drive like a Porsche, I’ll come back and ask advice from all you sifus and masters here again.
