Anyone here did the (plate no.) interchange? is it very troublesome?
I read we can use Tesla's own runner so just need to pay RM500 more.

So when i sell my current car, i just issue any new random number to it and will put the old number to my Tesla?

I did my own interchange (my first time too).

1. Visit Puspakom with previous car for B2 inspection.
2. Get the documents from Tesla, 4 of them. Fill up 1 form, and then submit to JPJ. Heck the form I didn't fill up also... they filled up based on the K1 (I think the computer filled form from Tesla). Need make sure you get the AP form too. There's total 4 documents I think.
3. My case the number was a booked number, cause I selling to friend hence he wanted a specific number which I bought for him and then registered that in.

I did the interchange. There were runners to help but I need to bring my old car to specific Puspakom for inspection, then go to specific JPJ to do the thumbprint 1 day before the scheduled delivery date.
*
What's the arrangement for the (new) number for your old car? Just get any number?

So for your case, is that consider using their runner or consider DIY? Owner need to send the car ourselves to JPJ? As I am considering to sell my car via other platform (MyTukar/Carsome) so wondering if they will cover this as part of their services?

For my case, I booked a number then registered that number to the old car.

Mine considered DIY. You do not need to send the car to JPJ, only to Puspakom inspection. For MyTukar/Carsome, you need to change car plate before going there.

Thanks bro. Much appreciated.

For my case, I had a runner helping me to prepare all the required documents, I was needed only for the thumbprint at the JPJ. For Puspakom, there was someone there as well to do all the required procedure, I was only required to bring my car and meet him there. All these was communicated thru an agency assigned by Tesla to me.
*
ok. this is what the Tesla DA told me as well. just need to do the thumbprint. Runner kau tim most of the task.
what is the arrangement for you to replace the number for your old car?

I got a new random running number for my old car. This was done together in the same JPJ session for the thumbprint for interchange.

I also received this message from DA saying that wall charger offer ended in March 31st. I guess Tesla is desperate these days due to deliveries report that released yesterday below expectation.

You can wait for the EV road tax policy to be announced this month.

TBH I am more interested with the EV number plate announcement. How can we carry this over from the current number.
If later all issue with new EV number, then no point do interchange now.

I dislike the new EV car plate concept... but I will still bid for the EV plate  dry.gif incase kena forced to change or for next EV car.

I am ok with this move (even though i am yet to be a EV owner lol).

"Loke explained that the clear identification of EVs is important to enable the Fire and Rescue Services Department to identify the vehicle in the event of an accident. He said this is crucial as the fire rescue department can’t simply spray water for EV-related fires. Typically, fires involving EVs require different procedures and special tools."

But let's hope the process is more straight forward. Imagine after geting the new car (and most ppl here is), then need to do bidding for new number again.

Bidding for EV car plate, is going to be huge competition...  dry.gif all the EV owners going just for EV... then who is going to be using the "running numbers" while the owners wait for next series EV xxxx A perhaps.
*
True that.

Loke also said “They (current BEV owners) have an existing number, most people would like to keep their number, because they spent money for that number. So, if we change that, we will have to take back the old number, then they won’t be happy. "

Source

But imagine if we got many ppl with eg. ABC8888, EFG888, XYZ8888, how many can be ported over to EV8888? and the running number like you mentioned.

Easier way is to just change the plate instead of the plate number. Like having green backgound to the plate instead of black but let ppl keep the existing number.
Bomba still can differentiate this easily.

Previously perhaps got so many series to choose from, now limited to EV...

What's the options you guys are using for the roof?
Tint + shades?

This looks good, with the magnet thingy.

My fren is using the one with the clip thingy and he said it's quite troublesome to put it up and removal.

I have not tried a shade, cause I find them cumbersome. But I'm satisfied with mine, I'm using Xpel XR Plus VLT30 for my top glass.

Only for the roof glass?
Rest of the window/windscreen same film or ?

Just tinted it with 50% VLT the same JPJ compliant film that i put on the windshield.
Something from Llumar, can't even remember.

Don't drive in the afternoons much. Morning, evening and night. I enjoy being able to see through the glass a little.

I would say use it first then tint/cover it as you see fit.

Everyones different in terms of what they need/like.

Cheers!

Slight out of topic

If I trade in my car with Tesla, they will settle the car loan for my old car for me right? The used car price is higher than my loan balance.

Normally for all my previous purchase via trade in program, that’s how it works. With Tesla and all this DIY stuff, can never be too sure.

If you decide to trade in with Tesla, they will help offset the amount you owe to the bank, and deposit the remaining to your personal account.
*
ok, that's my understanding as well. Was earlier abit concern if I may need to settle the loan myself first.

Cheers

With the free wall charger given by Tesla, how much we have to pay for the installation?
And how to arrange for that?

you can find your own installer, they're popping up everywhere offering their services.

my installation cost me 1.6k, on a single phase house

look out for reputable installers who know what they are doing
