Got it from Taiwan. Colleague helped me get while on hol there. NT13,800. Just too bad the exchange rate wasn't as good when changed money for it. Works out to about RM1,470. Comes with 1GB ram and a black mouse. But put in a 2GB ram instead.

uh? ver 2.3.1 ? Pidgin is very straight forward messenger app.

try follow wiki.eeeuser guide update to 2.3.1 see solve it not.

alternative way, u can get the aMSN which support webcam.

1)apt-get install amsn , press N. (copy down the packages name except amsn,) apt-get install xx1 xx2 xx3 (packages name from above but except amsn)
3)then, go amsn.com get the ver 0.97, use package install amsn.0.97.x.x command to install it.

* b4 step 1, u need get the yuren lazy 0.04 package to make changes on sources.list file, then apt-get update

Eh... that one I ain't too sure. Doesn't matter anyway since the warranty ain't valid here. And that's why I just went ahead to install the 2GB RAM.

Yes, especially memory hungry XP.

On Xandros, 512MB still capable to handle well.
(maybe, its Asus customize Linux designed for lite & easy)

i don't know if anyone has posted this. if you want applications to run but space is an issue for eeepc, well you can try portableapps. you can run it apps from usb drive or ext. hdd. but then, i think most of it pre-installed on the eeepc. sweat.gif
