Damm it....
For every EEE user, please dun tuning your eee with disable or anything about the services for Win XP if you dun understand what's that services for. For me, i had format 3 times cause of that. Now, again..... The Wifi, LAN is not able to use after change some of the Services (Cant remember what had i done last night about the Services) Haiz.....Format again tonight.... _______________________________________________________ Use regular Win XP to install. No need NLite for Eee since it just save up 100-300mb after Windows Updates and has chance for some feature become malfunction (ie ActiveX, some tiny feature needed or others) If has 1G RAM or more, just turn off the paging file (512mb RAM not recommend), disable the system restore and some trick from Asus User Manual. (save up until 2.2G free space before windows updates, 1.9G after all updates done) |

Added on December 17, 2007, 6:07 pmActually we no need nlite. i had just format it. Without update now, has 2.3G free space (after disable the paging since i has 1G RAM, disable system restore and clear system backup file, the sfc.exe /purgecache in command prompt)
Boot time is 47sec now (with Adobe Reader 8.1, FireFox, AVG Antivirus, CCleaner, and some software). after i update all the windows updates, will tell later. |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Dec 18 2007, 02:06 PM) 47 secs ok wat... ok..i've try nLite, but it failed me installation error at .sif file(press F3 to exit,ya, even I din't use unattended or remove winnt.sif also fail..weird) From cold boot (pressing the on button) until the first forum.lowyat.net loads up also takes about the same time. Too much rubbish so I proceed normal installation as wat splua333 mentioned. my eee XP boot up time(XP oridinary installation, with full 89 windows updates, IE7), about 25-26 seconds at auto logon(u'll c the brow line there), then 35-36 seconds at XP desktop ready. using StyleXP theme deco. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « One very big different I notice, after fresh installation without load in any ASUS all software drivers, XP loading is fast. Oh yah, another thing, anyone of you manage get the 0804(if not mistaken) BIOS via Asus Update utility? I ran it, it did show up 08 bios available to download. Official stable version? Hibernate is different from clean boot, if you had more ram restoring from hibernate takes longer cause it's basically loading ram from disks
