how to beware touching the flash0 root ?

can anybody please tell me what the most important thing i need to do and what i cannot do?
can i simply change the theme from the theme available as from what i read the brick sometime cause by theme..
can i play with the setting on the psp...
what's the things that i can do that will brick the PSP

what firmware are u on?

Dun plug in usb and go to recovery mode..

Maybe u dun what is recovery mode.. but it not important to know if u only play game,umd, wifi, music..

But i only know psp slim got 4 flash root if not wrong la....

flash0 > store firmware
flash1 > store setting file(wallpaper, psp setting, cache? and etc..)
flash2 > no idea
flash4 > no idea

dun plug usb no la.. the place u download ur team.. there are instruction.. if need to access flash root then dun use the theme la.. the theme that created for 3.71 is safe because only need put the file in THEME folder.

how use messenger.. hm.. homebrew program... after u get ur psp.. u will more clear about all this thing..

from your statement, i can assure that u are newbie and really noob bout this scene..no offence.so to make things safe.just use PTF theme.ok. no problem at all with that. we're talking bout other type of theme here..like what smoke just posted..see the differentiation between original? i mean location of icons, clock and others.

alright ...after selling and buying so many fat psp , got my first slim psp

now , just want to confirm this again , if I just play " funny games " and movies , there is no chance of the PSP Slim to brick ...or it will still happen randomly ??

now can anyone let me know bernard phone number ...do you think he will back up the nand dump for me ..though I did not get this slim one form him but bought ps2/psp from him couple of months back

touching the flash0 root means inserting new themes on ur psp and set it as ur theme will brick u psp intentionally ?

There are 2 type of themes:

1. Themes with .ptf file. You install this theme by copying it to the "Theme" folder on your memory stick. This will not brick your PSP.

2. Theme with .rco / .prx file. This theme usually require you to modify some files on your flash0. This type of theme may cause bricking.

Wanna ask,if Component or Composite cable for PSP slim,which better and can play game wan?

Anyone know what kind of audio chip or audio source psp slim uses?
(e.g. Ipod uses Wolfen chip set for audio output).
Trying to find out what kind of audio chip the psp slim uses but dam hard to find...

the psp only brick if u kacau it's flash files...files that is in your PSP.. not in your mspd..so playing games and movies never brick ur psp.

If you want to play games, you must use the component cable and your TV must support progressive scan.
With the composite cable or component cable on non-progressive scan TV, you can view everything else (menu, movie, music, pictures) .
