It probably depends on the speed of the memory stick. Mine took around 1.5 minutes using Open NAND dumper.

If you want to play games, you must use the component cable and your TV must support progressive scan.
With the composite cable or component cable on non-progressive scan TV, you can view everything else (menu, movie, music, pictures) .
