QUOTE(akachester @ Nov 16 2007, 03:33 PM) Anyway, wouldnt files from OTHER PSP work on mind IF "touch wood" it does get bricked? Yes, you can unbrick using files from other PSP, but the wifi and the umd drive won't work. The only thing you can do then is play MP3 or view photos on your PSP. You need the files from your own PSP if you want to unbrick and restore full functionality.

QUOTE(ruztynail @ Nov 20 2007, 09:38 AM) but i am planning wor. haha +_+; If you're planning to, then of course you should install it. IINM, the Popstation installer included in 3.71 M33-3 does not come with some PRX files required for it to work because it's illegal.

QUOTE(msn83235502 @ Nov 20 2007, 04:04 PM) no... ps2 is lot more powerful than psp...i think psp would never ever emulate ps2.. even 40gb ps3 cant emulate it[ . It's not because 40GB PS3 can't emulate PS2 games, it's because Sony don't want to do it. They think that it's better to spend their time and money in creating new games for the PS3 than putting backward compatibility on 40GB PS3. Source

QUOTE(samliang @ Nov 25 2007, 12:48 PM) touching the flash0 root means inserting new themes on ur psp and set it as ur theme will brick u psp intentionally ? There are 2 type of themes: 1. Themes with .ptf file. You install this theme by copying it to the "Theme" folder on your memory stick. This will not brick your PSP. 2. Theme with .rco / .prx file. This theme usually require you to modify some files on your flash0. This type of theme may cause bricking.

QUOTE(kenzio @ Nov 26 2007, 05:42 PM) one very noob question......why do you guys need to upgrade the firmware....? is the current firmware not good enough...? And I saw another version of PSP which is 2006, is this another latest version released by Sony? why do one after bricking their psp, didn't mention to send it back for warranty..(unless it's not covered under the warranty)....and does Sony cover this? Sorry, but hav to ask....cause need to clear up all my queries and minds before get myself into hassles... 1. New firmware add new functionality to the PSP. Also, new games usually requires latest firmware to play. 2. PSP 2006 is equal to PSP 2000 (PSP Slim). The last digit indicate which region the PSP is coming from. IINM, PSP 2006 is for PSP Slim from Hong Kong. 3. PSP that are bought from places other than Sony Center is not covered by warranty. Even if you buy the PSP from Sony, you can't claim warranty if you have modded the PSP with Custom Firmware.

QUOTE(samliang @ Nov 26 2007, 09:25 PM) got things to ask u guyz..... you guyz prefer get bundled with memory card or buy the console pack onli then after that add on a memory card ? and wats the latest firmware and most reliable firmware now ? any clue Bundle with memory stick if you don't mind getting fake memory stick, buy the console only then buy the memory stick separately if you want original memory stick. I'm using firmware 3.71 M33-3. This post has been edited by mzaidi: Nov 26 2007, 09:31 PM

QUOTE(lemon_lime @ Nov 28 2007, 01:20 PM) Need help from all the sifus in here. I just bought a psp slim and it's running 3.71 m33-3 custom firmware. I wanted to run some homebrews (emulator and pdf reader). I put the files in the GAME150 folder as per the instructions but it does not work. The error message is "The game could not be started. (80020148). Maybe because the homebrew software you're trying to use requires kernel 1.5? PSP Slim cannot run homebrew that requires kernel 1.5 .

QUOTE(lemon_lime @ Nov 28 2007, 01:29 PM) In this case, anyone knows which GBA emulator and e-book reader (pdf), which is compatible with custom firmware 3.71 m33-3? Not sure about PDF reader, but iR Shell has a built in PDF Reader. For the GBA Emulator, UO gpSP kai 3.2 is compatible with PSP Slim.

QUOTE(bluffy83 @ Dec 3 2007, 01:02 AM) read something bad earlier in this thread regarding this new CFW was highly prompt to brick.. Never touched psp before.. but i think i will buy this psp slim.. can u help me to choose the best CFW for someone like me? i just afraid i will brick it.. haha There are some bugs in earlier version of 3.71 M33, where your PSP could be bricked by accessing your flash0 by using USB. You can't access flash0 by accident, the option to access it is hidden in PSP's Recovery Menu, and to access Recovery Menu, you have to hold R-Shoulder button when turning on your PSP. So there is no way you could access flash0 unless you're doing it on purpose. The USB bug has been fixed in 3.71 M33-3.

QUOTE(WilliamG @ Dec 3 2007, 01:00 PM) 3.71 m33 which 1 is still the best?Why someone prefer m33-2 but not m33-3? Is there much diff? The best one would be 3.71 M33-3, fixed the USB bug in 3.71 M33 & 3.71 M33-2.

QUOTE(dattebayo @ Dec 3 2007, 04:12 PM) what is the USB bug u mean? There's a chance of bricking if you access flash0 using USB on 3.71 M33 / M33-2. It was fixed in 3.71 M33-3.

QUOTE(vee1234 @ Dec 7 2007, 12:35 AM) hi, i'm new here. can psp slim connect to laptop using wifi den play the screen on laptop screen? anyone try b4? No, you can't. PSP Slim can only output video via Composite / S-Video / Component cable and require TV / Monitor with such input.

QUOTE(madmoz @ Dec 9 2007, 02:34 AM) I seem to have a smallish white patch in my psp slim screen that is only visible when the screen is blank - i.e. a less black patch! Is this a defect? Do i bring it back to Sony? Small white patch? Maybe some dust under the screen? Maybe your PSP got some stuck pixel? QUOTE(nabelon @ Dec 9 2007, 03:20 AM) how do i emulate n64 on a psp 2000 running 3.71 m33-2 ? Google for Daedalus R13.

QUOTE(WilliamG @ Dec 22 2007, 01:43 PM) I noe that this question has been asked a lot of times and i oso noe myself that psp model 2000 is japan and 2006 is from HK. Wat im trying to ask is....do they have any "special" diff other then region lock and others? Btw anyone mind to teach me change the X into confirmation button?Instead of O 1. Go to "Recovery Menu" by turning off your PSP, and turning it back on while holding the "R Trigger" button. 2. In Recovery Menu, go to Registry Hacks, and you can see an option to swap the X and O button. Make the change, and exit the Recovery Menu. 3. The PSP will reboot when you exit the Recovery Menu.
