new year / holiday season recently, honestly the service in my area has been extremely poor due to congestion.
it's getting worst recently, online games are completely unplayable with long freezes.
it's funny they setup branch outlet in an area that don't really have solid services.
how we can get ISP to build more pylons towers...? sigh...
too much users, not enough pylons towers.

at first during end of december it was still okay, "fine I just use other ISP (like unifi mobile) to play games for now"
then now mid January basically everyone become super laggy

GET OFF YOU TIKTOK LAH ANCLE AUNTY AIYAHHHHH~~ i want to send gmail also hard ah~~

Luckily this CNY week my place still can get around 200mbps #touchwood sweat.gif sweat.gif

at dead of night able to get 40mbps, that's already surprisingly good considering my location
and it just gradually get worse as people starts to wake up... doh.gif

the router even blip to 5G mode for like 3 seconds which totally surprised me, as my location isn't in coverage.
The signal likely just too weak to be constant linked with 5G, despite the bar shown full.
there is no "5G only" mode in the MC888S router unfortunately to force it.

if only there way to hook antenna to the router there might be chance of running 5G...

I aware Huawei router have 3rd party software/app to force modes;
but I don't aware any for ZTE hmm.gif

I'm back in hometown for CNY and as usual speed here is around 200Mbps and above 300Mbps during graveyard hours. So far, it is still the same here. laugh.gif

u need to find other router that can attach external antenna & force 5g connection. personally I'm using olax g5018 & very happy with the performance. I didn't attach external antenna yet even though it's supported, my house area the reception is quite good already.

if your area don't have 5G coverage, and your router can't locked into b28, basically you are running in b1+b3+b8 4G, this is even worse than using those cheap 4G router that can do b3+b7.

Has anyone updated MC888S to B09 firmware? I can't because it said no new version.
I think the update system doesn't recognize "CR_UMMYMC888SV1.O.0B07 (capital "O")" firmware.

Hi, anyone has any idea on below?

I got zte mc888s on a 24M contract sometime during jul 2024. At that time, i remember i did try putting the postpaid rm38 plan inside the modem and manage to get internet connection.

I got fibre soon and paid umobile penalty. I understand the modem is locked to umobile.

I manage to find buyer for the modem recently which request me to test connection using different umobile plan. I bought umobile prepaid off 7e which got free 1gb data and tested can be use on the modem.

However, the buyer tested using her sim (umobile 128) and it simply wont work. Modem recognise sim card number but no internet connection. Any idea?

TP-Link Archer NX200 simple review.

1. Modem material and build is top quality and premium.

2. Speed is very good (non-peak i got 400+ Mbps, not even full bar of 5g).

3. Wifi signal is very strong. I still get less than 30ms ping even when im outside my house, outside the gate (terrace house). However, the dl speed is less, which is normal when the wifi is far.

4. Ping i always get less than 30ms. Sometimes less than 20ms.

5. Setup is very simple. Got app where you can tune some settings. The app is user friendly.

6. Got a built-in fan to regulate heat.

I am a happy user! Highly recommend this modem to others.

Brb gonna sell the free ZTE modem now.

It seems like UM is back to stable recently. Enjoying the cheap internet.

The same cannot be said for my almost expiring Celcom 5G and I plan to terminate it when the contract expires next month. Celcom is getting from bad to worse at my workplace. Not worth the RM149 I'm paying for the connection.

I see you dismantled it

do you think there's any where we can tap to attach external antenna to it?
wonder what those white/black cable dangling at the middle there, looks very much like antenna connectors  hmm.gif
if we could just plug a connector up those 'ports'....

seen some video on youtube talking about it but not actually showing the internal mod wiring  rclxub.gif

yes you can set external. i done mine but i'm just using another internal antenna not much different. might get better signal with proper external antenna.

Im not sure on this. I tried to go through the settings but haven't found the detailed settings that you have mentioned. I set all on auto and 5g preferred.
