curious why sc not quote lower arm.
its the most easy item to bend causing uneven tyres
*
Newer heard lower arm so easy bend unless you involved in serious accident or hit a very big pot hole or object.
Most cases i seen is just the bushes that are the first to go, not the whole lower arm part.

Hey guys,

As some of you have seen me posted before, I am a tire engineer working for one of the top 4 premium manufacturer.  My ultimate goal is to enable consumers to make a more knowledgeable decision when it comes to buying tires and I hope I can do so by using my website as a medium of information.

Anyways, since I am bored and its Sunday, I would take questions related to tires.

Feel free to ask any questions in regards to tires and I will try to answer as good as I can.

Thanks!

Tires have a max inflation pressure of 51 PSI (its actually much higher with safety margin). The question is what feels comfortable.

I would say use the recommended inflation pressure stated in your door. OEM test this quite vigorously. If you dont feel comfortable, you can adjust this but try to stay within +- 2 PSI.

Hi, currently driving vento 1.2 tsi with cpc2 215/45/r16

As it’s almost impossible to find similar size, seeking your advice on alternative size.

Is Conti UC7 205/50/r16 suitable?

I am currently using Michelin Primacy 4 on my Nissan Serena.
I found that the set of tyre on my car always can't last. Current Primacy4 is only 1.5 years with less than 20+km but the tyre thread is almost gone dy.
Is this normal? My car is less than 5 years and this is my 3rd set of tyre (new car tyre > ecopia > pirmacy 4)

205/50R16 is still within 3% of your 215/45R16. So its ok to change. Just be mindful that your speedometer will read slightly slower than your actual speed. E.g. 100kmh on speedo will be around 102 actual.

Another option is to downsize the wheels to 15inch and put on 195/55R15. It would be cheaper down the line as the 195 R15 will be cheaper compared to a 205R16. But you need a bigger upfront cost to change the wheels.

Hi, what would be the ideal tyre size in my situation.
My car OE tyre size is 235/45/18
And I've replaced an aftermarket 19inch rim,
235/35/19 is widely available in the market but My overall tyre diameter will be smaller than the OE spec
235/40/19 is the closest diameter to my OE spec but the size are difficult to source

Does changing my tyre diameter from OE spec will cause any damage to my car ?

Did you check your car lower arm, absorbers condition, alignment & rotate the tires position like every 5K~10k?
If no, even the best tire also will wear out fast.

Use this website Tire Size Calculator. Use the size comparison to see the size difference. You want your diameter to be at most +/-3% difference from your original size. If bigger than this you have issues with your speedometer and most likely have clearance issues in the wheel well.

If fully deflated already, at the pump theres a third button that you need to press for the pump to inflate a fully deflated tire. BUT if its already deflated and you already drive with the tire deflated, theres a high chance that your sidewall could be damaged.

I did rotation every 10km and the tyre thread wearing out evenly.
No idea why as every set of new tyre I used can't go beyond 30km.

Then is either your tire or your driving attitude. If always like to speed and enter corners like nothing also will wear out fast.

Hi guys, my stock tire michelin ps4 i just notice the sidewall i believe is the rim protector got like side cut macam peel like tat, is it not too much of a concern? 235/40/r18 size.. Attached Image
Found same damage at front same side actually ran into kerb, but checked online said that is rim protector so not too much of a concern unless it is bulged or can see chords..
