u'll have to wait till the new honda fit is launched over here first. usually the new city will come to our shores after launching in thailand.

Just curious... The Honda FIT is actually same as Honda Jazz right? i mean the outlook almost the same... i just went to honda.com.my and realise that there will be new model coming out soon but not sure whether is FIT or new Honda City...

i am waiting for the new Honda city..dunno worth to wait or not.. rolleyes.gif

Fit is the name used in JDM Japan. Our city in Japan is called Fit Aria or codename GD8. Honda Fit GD1/3 refers to our hatchback counterpart. The new city is not launched yet so i dont think thats the one on honda.net.my. its the latest Honda Jazz which will be coming to our shore soon. Check my signature, thats the new Jazz@GE6/8.

edit : added a few photos of the new jazz. 1.5ivtec engine with torque convertor.

They are two different thing actually. CVT is a gearbox. Torque converter a device used to transfer the rotating power to your wheels. AFAIK, torque converters are used with normal automatic gearbox, like planetary gearbox. CVT uses different device, but i can;t recall the name.

Please do notice this. There are CVT that are coupled with torque converter, but by doing this, it loses out in efficiency.

Contradicting that, Honda has CVT with torque converter with increased efficiency.

recalibration should not take long i guess, they just plug in a laptop and configure via software (i wish i have the application and wires so i can just tune it myself wah lau so fun)  rclxm9.gif

Anyway mine took 3 hours or so because did major service - 80k

The customer service at ipoh was good, staffs were very nice to me but i can't stand the fact that i can't see my car during service  vmad.gif

Erm my sound is from driver seat stretch out to near front screen. The sound is from ventilation hole. When i press or put my hand at the ventilation hole, then no sound dy. How can i fix this ah? If Wira, can jes take out the ventilation cover and tighten it or something but our CT one looks like the ventilation comes with the whole dashboard mounting.

Correct me if I am wrong..

I would not say that. Instead I think because CVT is too expensive to couple with i-VTEC.

Dear all Honda City owner,

I plan to buy a used Honda City (Model: I-DSI, Year: 2005, Mileage: 45000KM, Price: RM62K). My concern is that how can I inspec the car to ensure it is in good condition inside out, and 100% accident free (as told by the salesman)? Does Honda SC provide such service to inspec cars? Or you guys have any shop that can do a top-bottom inspection? icon_question.gif

You reply is much appreciated. Thanks. notworthy.gif

i brought my uncle with me while i was looking for my city
he works as a mechanic before.

well, best is bring your mechanic with you.
once they look at it, they know which part had accident before
even my uncle pointed it out to me, i still couldn't tell what's wrong with it.

well, some part that my uncle did check:
look for dents
open up the rubber seal at the door.
Check the wheel in bonnet, look for any rust/ wet sign
remove the carpet and check if there is any water marks
some others i don't know how to describe laugh.gif

If future no more CVT cars in production, then our gearbox will become more expensive... obsolete... not a good sign.. sigh...

hello fellow Honda City owners smile.gif

it's been a long time since I've posted here.....missed u guys........anyone still remember me? sweat.gif laugh.gif
cut the story short, im planning to do my 80k service at peringgit this coming saturday.....
but the problem is I find it too expensive.....last time during my 75k service, the SA said around +/- RM800 sweat.gif
so Q here is anything that I can skip to reduce the cost? if say do outside, i plan to service other than SA once after I reached my 100k service.....

my current plans to skip/reduce my cost
1) air filter....(last change was 40k, planning to change to K&N drop in before i reach 100k)
2) CVT oil.....(I've 1, so can i bring my own to the SA? )
this saturday damage : RM600+/-

recent rm damage : RM360, original nisin brake pads front and rear
future damage : RM800-1k 4 tires.... 205 45 16
fog lamp bulb x 2 : RM80
small lamp/side x2 : RM30

regards,
pilotHans

RM600 sounds kinda expensive. Mind to list the components in detail?
