Try reset the router then setup with UniFi profile.

After that, change only VLAN ID, username, and password.

Thanks for your reply, tvcat.

I tried to do so and yet it failed to connect to the Internet.

My current router has two WAN connection

WAN.1 is 1_INTERNET_R_VID_623 that has service type of INTERNET and VLAN 623.
WAN.2 is TR069 that has VLAN ID of 819.

I googled TR069 is only for feedback or remote control of my router, would it be the source of problem?

I'm sharing the following sanitised printout as-is how it was set up by TM's technician,
since there is lacking information regarding D-Link ONR that is currently supplied by Telekom Malaysia for 1GBps++ set up.

Brand : D-LINK
Model no : DPN-FX3060V
Firmware ver : DPN-FX3060V_V1.0.6
Default top-level(?) Credential : tmadmin / Adm@XXXX

where XXXX represents last 4 characters of MAC ID as per label underneath.

The sections that might interest you:
- Wizard
- Setup
- VoIP Port 1
- Firewall DMZ
- Firewall Port Forwarding
- Advance Loop Detection

This should give you an idea of what you can play around should you sign up for 1GBps+ and received this model for ONR.

----

I received 2 units of the ONR.
As I don't need another meshed network, I asked the technician to set up 1 as GPON Router, and another as GPON Bridge.

(1) The previous ZTE BTU is still usable. I was able to use my ASUS router to dial PPPoE as-is.

(2) The ONR set as GPON Router is working perfectly for now; I am submitting this post via the connection.
I am able to attach POTS and dial out to mobile number.
Based on the setup you can see in the attached PDF, there is no VLAN involved for general Internet.
I am able to use my ASUS router as 2nd-level NAT router to protect internal network.
However, I lose DDNS from the ASUS as the WAN is now using IP of ONR's LAN-side.

(3) The GPON Bridge is not working perfectly. The VoIP is not working; it produces engaged tone.
I was able to swap my ASUS router from dialling PPPoE through the previous ZTE BTU to dial out PPPoE using this ONR set as GPON Bridge as-is. I can get public IP as it should, and DDNS by the ASUS router works, unlike when it is set up as 2nd-level NAT with GPON Router.

In this mode, it will use VLAN500 - parsing through Setup - Connection 0 (of GPON Router), I guess it is possible to remove VLAN500 from play altogether.

I am not satisfied that I am not able to use POTS with current GPON Bridge configuration.
The moment it is set as GPON Bridge, technician complained that the web administration is no longer accessible.
I tried wireshark dumping; there is no IP address available on any of the ONR Bridge's ports. So I am not able to determine what's wrong.
I am about to reset the GPON Bridge to factory, then import the exported config.xml from GPON Router, then switch it into GPON Bridge mode - to see if this will resolve the POTS problem while retaining working relationship with ASUS.

( yeah, I purposely didn't zip them up just to entertain myself of your misery at this late hour rclxm9.gif )

edit 1: add missing printout

edit 2:
i reset ONR GPON Bridge. configure everything from scratch. verified both internet and POTS working. switch from GPON Router to GPON Bridge. internet still working with ASUS doing dialling. POTS turned engaged.
arrrgghhhh.

edit 3:
I nailed the GPON Bridge set up. Both Internet and POTS are working as they should. (NO, I did not focus on IPTV, because I don't have HyppTV anyway to validate.)
A follow up post will follow so as to not get people confused.
Again, the printout in this post is for a working GPON Router mode per set up by TM technician.

Observation note.

The VLAN tag value is as seen on the fibre-side network. needs to be populated and enabled.

Select which LAN ports will be able to send/receive the VLAN-based traffic.
The VLAN tagging here is as seen on the LAN port-side. If you tag, then whatever devices connected on LAN ports need to be VLAN-aware. So in theory, if you untag, then you don't need a router that is vlan-capable to dial PPPoE whistling.gif

Thanks for all the hard work

Do you ask for the OLT password so you can use a third party fibre modem?

Is this it? It was offered to me by technician , so I just screenshot without understanding what it is for.
I found it keeps pre-populated under [Setup > GPON Settings > PLOAM Password] (check the printout) despite me resetting the ONR a few times.
Anyway, that same config field have "Show Password" checkbox to see its plaintext.

if it isn't, i'll look for it later. bit sleepy, didn't sleep whole night looking for the "bridge".
since I am using "bridge" set up, I didn't map-/tag port 2,3, so it's just a matter of connecting cable to either port 2,3 and can already easily access the ONR through fixed IP to match segment.

Update @ 10.33AM.
I understood most ISP cheap out their stock CPE. But this is another whole new level. I believe the ONR supplied by TM should range between RM100 - RM200.

The major difference is the wallet "damage" monthly (and that translates to a huge savings yearly) and possibly your time patience waiting to download GBs game files or Windows patch. And if you are above 100 Mbps, you are literally "donating" free bandwidth back to the provider. One can hardly use all the bandwidth at any given time, unless you are streaming more than 10 HD movies and torrenting/P2P all the time. Or running online server "farming".

Well its up to individuals.
Have you heard the popular saying about mentality about food and eating out?
Something that goes like, poor people will only care about quantity, middle class care about taste, but wealthy people care about experience.

The same with internet, not everyone sticks with poor people mentality. You not necessary have to force yourself eating every single grain of MBps you paid with your hard earned money. Or stuck with bare minimim package that you that you think you could utilize 90% f the time.
Most people out there could afford and willing to pay for tasty and enjoyable internet (reasonable speed in any usage scenario), or experience (downloading 10gb files in less than a minute in a rare moment that happen only once in a while).

Its not a wrong decision if you could afford and you have a reason for it.

According to the technician, "THAT" you are looking for is only revealed to certain individual. I can understand the position he stated.

He revealed to me since (1) it was his first time installing an Ultra subscription (2) so he was not familiar yet with the ONR model (3) and both have time yesterday to experiment (4) setting up bridge-mode which is not covered by the instruction manual he is parsing through for first time.

So it was a joint learning quest for me and for him. And I am actually sharing back the same documents I shared above with him. Hopefully he and is now in better footing to handle another ktard in Timur Laut demanding a bridge-to-ASUS configuration. 😅

I'm not familiar with Celcom fibre and no longer own the c1200.

Make sure the following are correct:

1. The protocol the Celcom is using, for eg. PPPoE. You can check this by login to the router provided by Celcom.

2. Correct username and password for authentication, not router login or WiFi. This usually need to request from the ISP.

3. The WAN cable is plug in to the correct port on the router.

4. The VLAN setting is correct and enabled.

Anyway you can also try asking at the TP-Link thread.

Yea, younger generation can't wait for anything. They just want fast fast.

IMHO, there isn't a lot of difference between 500, 300, 100, and 30 Mbps. I have tried all these plans over the years.

The major difference is the wallet "damage" monthly (and that translates to a huge savings yearly) and possibly your time patience waiting to download GBs game files or Windows patch. And if you are above 100 Mbps, you are literally "donating" free bandwidth back to the provider. I'm old.
And I cannot wait any longer.
I always lamented before that I'll go under ground first before TM even comes around to burying fibre around my house. That fibre had come and get done. And yet I now lament about me going under ground first before my data packets even arrive at its intended recipients.

So yeah, all the speed is for my curiosity and for my bragging right as a networking guy.

BUT, for my spouse, it's about getting work done with quality and without bumps during delivery. 500Mbps/100Mbps still come undone and wobbly for video conferencing with big-ass TV streaming 4K Doraemon and everything else sucking at the same time.
800Mbps/200Mbps seems wasted to go for for it offers whopping price increase for a dubious minimal addition. It might not even dent the delivery issue.
But 1Gbps/500Mbps? Or 2Gbps/1Gbps? Whoaaa, that's a meaningful extra capacity that I am willing to pay promo price equivalent the same price of current 800Mbps/200Mbps offering. I would rather have that current extra capacity than barely enough capacity of yesterday - if it was enough all this while, the "Home Minister" wouldn't have complained about her work-from-home internet connection 😅.

Anyone here currently using Unifi with OPNSense? Currently just migrated from Xiaomi AX1800 over to it and is currently setting it up.

But for some reason, IPv6 just doesn't want to work. Back with TM's default Archer C7, I just ran PPPoE through v4 to obtain a v6 lease, same with Xiaomi.

But currently OPNSense I'm trying all the possible settings to get IPv6 working again but to no avail.

Currently the only one working is SLAAC with IPv4 connection, I have gotten a /64 prefix, a link local address and a link local gateway - fe80::200:5eff:fe00:1b5.

With LAN, all my devices currently can only obtain a link local IPv6 and not global IPv6. DHCPv6, SLAAC, Track Interface and all doesn't work, I still only get a link local.

Would appreciate any advices given by OPNSense sifus tongue.gif

P/S: Currently my WAN is on an interface with a non valid MAC, as it's a VM with VT-d ethernet card pass through to it. If that might be the reason to my issues I'm facing, do let me know and I'll add the existing MAC from said NIC to the VM, as I'm too lazy to edit Proxmox's config to fix it

Me again.

Upgraded fibre from 500Mbps/100Mbps to 1Gbps/500Mbps plan

Brand : D-LINK
Model no : DPN-FX3060V

Brand : ASUS
Model no : RT-AX86U

Brand : TP-Link
Model no : Deco M9 Plus

--

Recap from previous posts: I want to use DPN-FX3060V in bridging mode instead of router mode, which is the default set up from TM.

I achieved that. With working POTS.

But I have this nagging problem.

WHY IS THE SPEED ONLY HOVERING AROUND 650Mbps/500Mbps AS IT PASSES MY ASUS ROUTER?

(And to have it worse, I don't know why my single-node TP-Link Deco M9 Plus mesh can only max around 550Mbps/500Mbps...)

For speed test, I only use the clients built-in RT-AX86U or Deco M9 Plus. There is no ambiguity since it's built-in "cable" speed. And all cables involved are CAT6.

Unholy, unscientific rounded averaged to drive the point in this post

DPN-FX3060V - DOES NOT SUPPORT LACP AGGREGATION
DPN-FX3060V - loop detection enabled as-is
DPN-FX3060V - VLAN tagging disabled on LAN1..LAN4
DPN-FX3060V - LAN1+LAN2 used when needed
DPN-FX3060V - set DMZ target to point to ASUS WAN' Static IP, when applicable

RT-AX86U - VLAN mode disabled
RT-AX86U - LACP aggregation enabled = WAN+LAN4, 2.5G will turn into another LAN
RT-AX86U - Dual-WAN enabled = WAN+2.5G, purposely chose to load balance 1:1 ratio over 2 ports

D-LINK Downstream ModeASUS WAN ModeASUS Ports InvolvedASUS Speed Test (Mbps)ASUS DDNS RegistrationRemark
BridgedPPPoEWAN650Mbps/500MbpsSuccessful (IPv4, IPv6)
BridgedPPPoEDual-WAN WAN+2.5G650Mbps/500MbpsSuccessful (IPv4, IPv6)Only 1 PPPoE session possible on either port is successful
PPPoE (Routed)StaticWAN650Mbps/500MbpsSuccessful (IPv4, IPv6)
PPPoE (Routed)StaticDual-WAN WAN+2.5G (2 IPs)800Mbps/500MbpsSuccessful (IPv4, IPv6)
PPPoE (Routed)StaticAggregate WAN+LAN4 (1 IP) 950Mbps/500MbpsSuccessful (IPv4)Failed if attempt to register IPv6 DDNS

So I gained possibility to get over individual port limitation by aggregating WAN+LAN4, but lose DDNS update.

Benefits of Routed mode; (i) instead of having to plug direct cable into DPN-FX3060V to access web admin interface, now can access direct from LAN protected by RT-AX86U, and (ii) built-in NTP client that couldn't update time in Bridged DPN-FX3060V is now working again in Routed mode.

Disadvantage; accessing RT-AX86U through DPN-FX3060V' DMZ is very very slow. And DPN-FX3060V cuts you off from DMZ too soon on inactivity.

Found a bug in PON Connection setting user interface.
If you unset "Auto IPv6 DNS" and set your own, the next time you edit the connection, it will move 2nd DNS' entry to overwrite 1st DNS' entry, but at the same time it reset to use "Auto IPv6 DNS" again.

Have you tried testing with your previous set up? Old BTU and Asus RT-AX86U?
