Unfortunately you won't be getting that value as Samsung trade-ins are pretty shit outside of US. You can gauge your latest trade-in value here https://www.samsung.com/my/offer/mobile/trade-in/ or with the InstaCash app, which is what Samsung uses.

Best case is getting extra rebate from trade-in promo. Example Z Fold 3 had an extra RM500 rebate if you trade in, and I had a non-functional Note 8 which had RM1 value, but I could still get the RM500 rebate even if I traded in the phone.
RM500 value for a dead phone is good, but I decided to save it to trade in for S22 Ultra

I could get rm1020 for the S21 FE (RM820 + RM200 instant trade in rebate). Then another rm400 evoucher. Total 1,420 off, not counting additional rm500 less to pay for next year tax claim.

I'm hoping for something similar for base S22.

recent benchmark of exynos 2200 seems not bad, on par with SD.

- Hoping samsung will finally use Snapdragon in Msia market
- end up still using exynos
- then telling ourselves 'okla this year exynos almost as good as SD'
- repeat the same process next year

This year highly possible we got SD chip.

If we do get SD chip it probably means exynos is finally better than SD 😂

But I highly doubt it la. Even S21fe also getting Exynos

Hoping for the same based on two indicators: -

1st, being the global chip shortages and this particular leak…

And 2nd, the S21 FE came with the Exynos when the previous S10 Lite and S20 FE came with Exynos.

So yeah, hoping for it but knowing Samsung, won’t be surprised if we will get the Exynos.

As a non-gamer, the performance of previous Exynos never bothered me, but I had issues with the cellular signal strength and also battery efficiency - particularly in standby. Hence have not touched an Exynos powered Samsung since Note 10+. We’ll see this round

What I initially thought too, but I went to store after diagnosing my phone has a dead mobo just to check.
Samsung will use instacash on web to determine the value i.e RM1 lol, then can still trade in and get the RM500 rebate (bonus trade in promo) for Z Fold 3 at the time.

Same, I don't mind getting Exynos if the standby drain and CPU efficiency is equal. GPU performance is not so important for me. But I saw review on low light video performance between E2100 and SD888, SD has more details while Exynos is softer.

If you guys have used samsung long enough, you would know exynos punya reception vs a snapdragon is seriously inferior.

I get 4g in my hall with SD, while on exynos it struggles to stay on 4g

Yeah, raw performance isn't a big deal unless you're a serious gamer or so. I've seen the reviews of the Exynos vs Snapdragon photo quality as well but I think you only spot the differences if you go looking for it closely, hahaha. Anyways, not a big deal for me too - just the standby battery drain and the signal reception. Those would make or break the deal for me!

I think the most they might bundle in is a pair of buds, probably a charger of some sort and screen protection. Gone are the days of generous free gifts!

Yup, which is why I've only used Samsung with SD processors since the S10+ and Note 10+. Went with a S10 Lite, a M51 and now using a A52S 5G. The inferior signal strength could also explain why the standby battery drain on the Exynos powered phones are relatively bad compared to the SD powered ones with all other things being equal.

Can't agree more on this. My S20 Ultra always 2g at my work place , change to xiaomi and huawei both steady 4g 3bar.

I know qualcomm make modem bt when wiki apparently it stand for quality communication so other cant beat that i guess.

Hey guys, I used to be a long term android user then left the ecosystem to join the dark side. Last android device I used was the note 9. How’s android/samsung so far since then? Any software lagging issues after a year of usage or so? Thinking of coming back to android with the upcoming s22 series

Yeah, I remembered for a while last time, searching for a good screen protector such a hassle for curved screens and remembered whitestone dome was one of the better ones. But then again hope the market is better already now.

Tempered glass still a hassle to put on imo but there are cheaper ones available already. Right now I'm using tmax for my S21U for last few months. So far so good.
But the fingerprint sensor still a bit affected lah imo. Can use but it's not as good as without a TG.
Previously when using the phone with the default screen protector I feel the fp sensor more or less flawless already

Ahh i see, "perks" of getting a curved screen I guess. Was already happy to see S21U to have a flatter screen but looking at the leaks, its gonna be curved edges i guess.

but then again if you are paying 5k+ then maybe other china phone will be best choice since they are with SD cpu too

The worry on China phone comes down to compatibility with our local, international apps such as notification delay. And also volte

For Samsung Yes, I'm just replying to another person about considering China phone.

Tbh, I'm eyeing on iqoo pro 9. Good review on hardware and software but very uncertain how it may work in MY (such as Volte, International Apps and Local Apps)

As a result I'm still waiting for the Samsung announcement . But I will not hold my breath for Samsung, given the price is more or less same with last year it would easily burst my budget

it's so sad to see that recent galaxy S series, apart from Fold & Flip, are so boring in designs. it's like it's getting less innovative lately. Granted that Samsung now is monopolizing android top-tier market. So unfortunately though, cause their competition got "beaten" out of the market by unfair US sanction. So now Samsung just keeps recycling the same old designs while hiking up the prices more and more. :<

Yeah, first reaction when i saw the leaks.. Understood that they want to merge the note and S series but before this i was kinda wishing they'd go with the S21U hardware design + S Pen. Didn't expect them to go full blown Note design and call it the Ultra..
