True. But if you plan to use the phone for long term, I think more ram is better. We will never know what will happen to Android system in next 3-4 year. So more ram will make me feel more secured. Uncle mindset here. biggrin.gif

Thinking get either s22+ or s22 ultra
not s pen fan boy, but better camera + 12gb not sure worth extra RM 1.2k or not laugh.gif
As s22+ weight roughly similar wih my 12 pro, if s22 ultra very heavy hmm.gif

My logic is pretty simple. As long as it's snapdragon, then worth it. Previous years, I kept buying new Samsung flagship while complaining about the inferior exynos chip. Now finally got the chance to try the snapdragon performance, it's time for me to stop pursuing every year. Planning to use the new phone for at least 2-3 years. So this time i decided to go for the top one. Ya. i know this excuse is lame. But no choice. First time buying RM5000 phone. Have to give myself some motivation to buy. hahaha... tongue.gif
*
Didn't use any Snapdragon phone before laugh.gif
Nowdays phone very easily last 2-3 years one, unless you talk about gaming and camera wise then go change every year
The reason S22 Ultra holds me back is due to bigger size + I didn't use much S pen + curve screen
The things I love it is camera and 12gb RAM compare to S22+ 8gb ram

QUOTE(attw @ Feb 12 2022, 04:57 PM)
It didn't feel too heavy when I was holding the phone just now - the 13 Pro Max definitely felt heavier! Did wish the screen was flat and not curved though, hahaha..
*
But I comparing with my current 12 pro mar, not max laugh.gif
My Xs going to retire, thinking S22+ or Ultra, will wait for review and go samsung shop hold it how it feel hmm.gif

I did get it. IMO worth it if you're a klutz like me.
So far have changed the screens of a few of my Samsung phones sweat.gif thankfully all had screen protection.
Another way to think of it is a free screen replacement just before warranty ends and an "accident" happens tongue.gif
*
If buy the Samsung Care+ 2 years does it means warranty also cover 2 years?

It does. Because the 2 year Care+ plan actually includes "Breakdowns", unlike the 1 year plan which is pretty much just an accidental damage add on to the original 1 year warranty. Think of the 2 year Care+ plan as Warranty Extension + Accidental Damage Protection.

(BTW, US Care+ even has a Theft coverage version lol)

That said, I've asked before but I'm still wondering, does anyone have any experience with Maxis Safe Device? Theoretically, as long as you keep paying the 33 (for S22) monthly fee it seems to be an endless warranty + accidental damage protection (well, technically its insurance but let's not get into that). As long as the phone is feasibly repairable anyway (if not they will replace).

Similarly whatever device protection coverage the other telcos have.

I'm clear about the max number of claims allowed yearly clause (even Care+ has those), but anybody with any experience of other "traps" with these telco device insurance packages (vs Care+)?

Thanks, then I will get for it biggrin.gif

Take note that if you plan to buy S22 Ultra with Maxis, it doesn't have any pre-order gift anymore

or wait for official launch day and see if they have better free gifts hmm.gif

Wait for review out on 25/2 then only decide whistling.gif

But then, if pre-order I also no idea what to spend the RM 800 laugh.gif

Unless can use it to buy Samsung SSD whistling.gif

Yes. Despite the fact that S22 Ultra is king, a lot of reviewers actually said their favourite is the S22. They claimed that it's the most comfortable to hold on hand compared to its siblings. They also recommend if buyer don't fancy with the S pen, then they should choose the S22 for the "user-friendly" feeling. But too shame that it has small size battery. Imagine if you switch on 120hz mode, and take photos frequently. I think half day the battery life will be gone. Indeed a deal breaker.
*
That the reason I pick Xs and 12 Pro instead Xs max and 12 Pro Max

Not really like big screen as my hand quite small, the phone can fits in nicely in formal pants but not jeans

Imagine when go out wear jeans and sit down, the phone is too long laugh.gif

But S22 charge slower compare to S22+ and S22 Ultra, but it still charge faster than both my iPhone whistling.gif

You are not alone. I also didn't receive. Since they said will send the voucher starting from today onwards, may be they send by batches.
*
What are the those RM 200 voucher use for?

Then got another RM 200 trade in voucher, can I use it to trade in my aging smartphone then get another RM 200 discount + phone trade in value? rclxub.gif

Here's the explanation by one of the forumers.
You also feel a bit confused with all those promotions ah? haha. No worry. Let me explain it to you.
Scenario A:

First, before the S22 series being announced, if you have an account with Samsung Malaysia website, you would have received an email telling you that you will get RM200 e-voucher if you register your interest with S22 series. This voucher can only be used after 25 Feb, to buy samsung wearables or accessories.
Now back to S22 pre-order.

When you try to pre-order, there's an option for you to trade in your old phone. If you choose it, you follow the given instructions. After you trade in succesfully, the trade in money will be banked into you bank account. Afterwards, you apply your trade in ID in your pre-order page, you will get RM200 discount on your purchase of S22 series. So ya. You have to wait for their people come to collect your phone first before you can finish your order.

The last one, when you pre-order, don't forget to apply the voucher code that provided by those tech blogs in order to get that free 45W charger. And of course, while stock last.

user posted image
So if you do all the above, and if you do it right, you can get pre-order free gifts + RM 200 e-voucher (registered interest) + 45W charger (apply tech blog code) + RM200 discount (if you trade in) + extra cash in your bank (if you trade in).
Scenario B

If you have EPP or EDU, you can order the phone with special discount using the company staff benefit or student benefit. But in one condition, no free gift. This exclusive offer cannot be shared to public. But somehow there's one person out there in Samsung community forum shared how to exploit the EDU. Of course in the end, the exploitation was found out by Samsung and the EDU offer was forced to close down so soon.
Ok. I think I already explain it quite thoroughly. Hope this can help you understand better. biggrin.gif

One thing wrong, you don’t need to complete trade in before check out. You can check out first, then later on complete the trade in.

What was the edu store exploit?
*
Scenario B doesn't apply to me whistling.gif

As for Scenario A, assume I trade in an old phone worth RM 100 + buy S22 Ultra 256gb + 2 years Samsung Care+
RM 5,940 (after add 2 years Samsung Care+) - RM 200 discount for trade in + RM 100 old phone trade in = RM 5,640?

As the register interest RM 200 only usable from 25th Feb onwards and use to buy wearable and accessories, not phone

Means after key in the trade in ID then check out and pay the rest of the amount
And wait for them to collect my phone?

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Feb 13 2022, 11:50 AM)
Huh? If that so, what if the trade in is failed at the end? Afaik, you can reject the trade in if you don't agree with the amount they offer when they come to your house to collect the phone. The amount they offered in the app is not final price. They still need to come to you and check the phone condition, then only offer the final price. Is that mean you still can get the RM 200 discount as long as you tried to trade in, even if it may get failed at the end?
As for the edu thing, you can check previous pages. There's some discussion over there about what and how and why it happened.
*
For me I don't care already as long as can get RM 200 discount, the extra discount is based on phone condition laugh.gif

But then what if they come and collect my phone and I am not at home? impossible I ask them come to my office to collect my phone hmm.gif
