Hi all, hope everyone especially the first batch pre-order folks are enjoying your phones so far

I collected my S22 Ultra from my cousin who bought it via EPP over the weekend and here are my first impressions after 48 hours: -
- Design and build quality is great, but lazy - not that I blame them, they are sticking to what works, which is what Apple does time and time (and time) again. It’s essentially a Note 20 Ultra except for the camera housing, and it’s great. I’ve got a Ringke Fusion X Camo case on which I think is a great balance in terms of price, protection and looks (but looks is subjective, my wife thinks the case is ugly, hahaha)
- The display is gorgeous, have had no issues with mine so far. However, my default setting is FHD+ and Vivid, it’s good enough for me.
- The ultrasonic FP reader is much improved over the 1st iteration in the S10+ - which drove me nuts. It’s fast and mostly accurate when using without screen protector/tempered glass. I installed a T-Max tempered glass on my unit courtesy of sakurazz and found the FP reader to be less accurate and a bit more effort required - but it’s a price I’m willing to pay for the short term extra protection - I don’t keep my Android phones long. For those yet to get the phone or deciding whether or not to put a tempered glass on it, my advise is to get Samsung Care+ and forget about the tempered glass.
- No glitches so far with the software, I did remove some apps that I don’t use like Bixby and S-Pay via ADB. And no, it doesn’t free up significant amount of storage spare but I don’t like having stuffs on my phone that I don’t use. Updated the software yesterday and all feels good, nothing unusual.
- Battery life is good so far, but my phone is still learning my usage patterns so it won’t be objective to comment on it now. But I like what I see so far. On my first full charge cycle I got 8 hours screen time over a 22-hour period and had slightly under 20% of battery remaining (Edit: On Wi-Fi, coz I was working from home that day). Overnight standby battery drain with all functions left on is 0.5% per hour, which is acceptable.
- Everything is fast and snappy, and the heat management is pretty good so far. I don’t play games so the warmest the phone felt was during a one-hour Microsoft Teams call I had with my colleagues yesterday. It didn’t get too hot till it’s uncomfortable
- Haven’t tried the camera, but I’m sure it’ll be great.
My couple of disappointments so far are the speakers -no where near as loud or as good as the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the vibration motor - feels very midrange-like which is unbecoming for a flagship.
Oh and last point - signal strength is great! Hurray for Snapdragon, Boo Exynos!!
excellent summary bro, as always. hope to see a long term one but then again you would have gone back to iphone
