Btw ... i'm probably the odd 1 out here but anyone have any experience pre-order but collect the phone late? I might go overseas next week and only be back end of March .... if I pre-order from telco then i wonder what will happen hmm ... anyone got experience?
*
If i were you, I won’t preorder. By end of march, you can find way better offer than the current preorder. Either via EPP, second unit, or even retailer throwing price/freebies.

This is truly one bulky and heavy phone. honestly i prefer to have the Z Fold3 in my pocket rather than this.

The extra 4gb ram. You get 12GB ram if you choose the S22 Ultra 256GB, while S22 & S22+ (128gb/256gb), and S22 Ultra 128GB only got 8GB ram. More ram is better if you want to use the phone for 3-4 years.

to be honest, i find 8GB RAM is actually good enough for modern android flagship with great processors, fast storage and good os optimization. and good enough here is not only for normal usage / gaming, but also includes mobile video editing and lots of spreadsheets work.

True. But if you plan to use the phone for long term, I think more ram is better. We will never know what will happen to Android system in next 3-4 year. So more ram will make me feel more secured. Uncle mindset here. biggrin.gif

i doubt those in this thread gonna use s22 ultra for 3-4 years tongue.gif

I watched a comparison video. It said the S21 Ultra is bulkier than S22 Ultra due to that camera bump. It also mentioned the S22 Ultra weight is well distributed. So I think S22 ultra will be slightly better than S21 Ultra in term of bulkiness. Of course, still need to touch the demo unit then only know if it's really better than S21 Ultra. But seeing that the infected number is still increasing these days, I don't think I will go to the mall to touch the demo unit. Better be safe. sweat.gif

for me few hours after using this s22 ultra, it feels bulkier in hands and in pocket. maybe it's a bit subjective though. those videos you watched might have a point in few aspects such as larger camera bump and also s21 ultra is more squarish than s22 ultra.

Well, I do plan to use it for 3-4 years. Been chasing new phone for many years liao. Time to stop and start pursue other hobbies. Hopefully. I can't guarantee lah. May be I will feel itchy hand again next year when S23 Ultra releases. LOL biggrin.gif

I'm sure we will see you this time next year in s23 thread whistling.gif

It didn't feel too heavy when I was holding the phone just now - the 13 Pro Max definitely felt heavier! Did wish the screen was flat and not curved though, hahaha..
*
ah that 13 pro max is a true definition of brick. I'm glad I bought the 13 pro instead, despite sometimes I do miss the screen estate of the max.

🤭 soon. I dont really like it. Well it’s a great phone but i prefer to keep my fold3 due to it’s 2-in-1 functionality.
