it's so sad to see that recent galaxy S series, apart from Fold & Flip, are so boring in designs. it's like it's getting less innovative lately. Granted that Samsung now is monopolizing android top-tier market. So unfortunately though, cause their competition got "beaten" out of the market by unfair US sanction. So now Samsung just keeps recycling the same old designs while hiking up the prices more and more. :<

it's the lack of proper TG that irks me. And you have to pay sky prices for them.

I really want to move back to Note series (ss22Ultra) but the big screen and the lack of TG choices and privacy TG really hinder my decision making.

Given time, LOCA based curved glass privacy TGs will surely come for the Ultra. As for normal TGs, it shouldn't take too long for more choices to pop up, considering how prolific the Ultra is.

I'm more worried about my baby 22, as it might be sidelined next to its + and Ultra siblings.

Curved screen is not new technology. It has been more than 10 years. So if it doesn't release, it just never will because it means they don't want to do it.

LOCA glue TG is still a pain in the ass. Unfortunately.

Since the SGN10+ I've used three Samsung phones with SD processors - the S10 Lite, the M51 and currently using the A52S 5G. I can attest that all three phones have better signal strength and battery performance compared to their Exynos flagship cousins. So I think it's highly unlikely the signal strength issue of the Note 10+ will be passed down to the S22U. I heard even the S21 series had marked improvements from before as well, but my experience with the SGN10+ was enough for me to never consider another Exynos powered Samsung again - ever.

Edit: Oh, the app to check the signal strength was some random signal strength check app that I googled and installed just to prove a point. I removed the app since and have not used it again. Can't remember what it's called.
No bro, didn't try the S21U. My last Sammy flagship was the Note 10+. Since then been avoiding Exynos like crazy laugh.gif

did you order S22 series?

Indirectly, haha..

My cousin has the employee purchase privileges and she has ordered a S22U, but she had a case of buyer's remorse after that and texted me to see if I wanted the unit and I said OK. There's still a chance she might want to keep it after the phone arrives and if that is the case then I'll probably get one later on when I can get a good deal for it. But yes, it looks like my two year hiatus from Samsung flagships will end this year.

And yourself? Are you getting one?

no wor. i plan to use my iphone 12 pro for as long as possible.

Yes the SEA variant's are. EU gets Exynos this time.

Oh thank you!

I have never had fingerprint sensor on screen before. Last Samsung phone i used didn't have on-screen fingerprint sensor.
So is it true that if you use Tempered glass or screen protector then you can't use the fingerprint sensor these days?

I'm interested in S22 because of its compact size and i do plan to put on a privacy screen protector.

Only because samsung is using a more secured ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, compare with optical sensor used on other phones. That said, normal screen protector, film/ tpu type will work flawlessly. For tempered glass you may have to spend more or find the correct one for the sensor to work, but even the best tempered glass will affect the sensitivity somehow.
*
ohhh.. is that why there aren't many tempered glasses available for samsun s22 ? even though it's supposed to be flat screen, easier to find TG. xD
Are those privacy hydrogrel thing actually works? I don't quite like those screen protectors or hydrogel cause the sensation is different than TG.

My bad

I forgot your phone chronology already

you yourself? I'm just window shopping. Cause S22 the compact size is amazing and i have given up on any phones that's bigger than 6.2 inches. Just not so convenient for me.
Also this time S22 has very nice edges. xD

QUOTE(chaukeng @ Mar 20 2022, 05:57 PM)
There will be alot on shopee in a few months time. Lack of choice now because its still a new model. But most won't work with the fp sensor even though they may advertise otherwise

Exactly lol. TG feels so much better. Gel types just sucks. Btw, those privacy hydrogel serves its purpose well. On returns though your screen gets dimmer and you have to jam up your brightness, end up consume more battery.
*
They do have other unlocking modes right? So the fingerprint sensor can be ignored also. I just want privacy tempered glass. I think that's like the best invention ever.
Right now i'm using iphone and it's easy to find accessories so i'm hoping that S22 will have the same selections when it comes to TG.

Hmm I don't think our referral code work this way that let new customer to direct discount RM 200. You need to purchase the phone first with the IMEI, Proof of Purchase, then redeem from Samsung via our referral code to get this RM 200.  sweat.gif

Anyone takes the GREEN variant for your S22 series?
I wanted to take black, never have been a fan of green but this time the green is really outstanding.

Mine is the green variant of the S22 Ultra. I love it a lot but my clear case is a fingerprint magnet.
*
Can get the matte cases?
I'm stuck in the order page, thinking whether to get the green or black.
The green is too impressive, coming from someone who doesn't have any type of green for her wardrobes or any accessories in the matter.
