Is it advisable to clean the screen using alcohol swab?

No lol, just use a damp cloth to remove smudges .,, then go dry microfiber cloth...that’s safest I think…but macbook screen is a little more sensitive than iPads and iPhones from what I read, I would just go with light dry cloth and not even damp…but it’s very likely I will do it once in a blue blue moon unless those smudges bother me so much that it affects my vision..otherwise I won’t bother wiping it..just like people don’t wipe their TV screens all the time (or maybe never)

Haha I see. Because apple support website does mention that we can clean our mac with 70% alcohol gently.

I wouldn’t trust them when it comes to these…they also say you can swim with your iPhone but more often than not when people even wash their phone and it voids the water damage warranty and they will make you pay a hefty amount for replacement when that happens

There's always the Apple Cleaning Cloth

cipek. this cloth sold out like a freaking $2.00 cleaning cloth.
when PO a cloth is longer than a custom 16" MBP

Ikr lol it has the longest waiting time, aside from all the chip shortage, this one is the most shortage imo

You can use alcohol (not pure alcohol) on the body, but best not to use on the screen due to the coating - risk of damaging it. Better just use a microfibre / lint-free cloth to wipe it. I usually just use those screen cloths from decent tempered glass manufacturers or from DBrand, pretty high quality ones.

I'm using iStat Menu, but it's the paid version. I'm using the 16inch M1 Pro.

Usually if its 8 cores means 2 efficient cores and 6 performance cores. I suspect your software should be buggy.

I learned my lesson the hard way.

Am an OCD guy myself, so I naturally used tissue + sanitizer alcohol to wipe my 2013 MBP 15’ after a day out in the cafe during covid.

The laptop seemed fine at first. But the next day the screen gave up and gave a purple + green display. Was shocked and the repair costed RM2k+, which I decided against and went with a new MBP instead.

Please learn from my lesson. Alcohol sanitizer doesn’t go well with MBP screen, unless you want to risk damaging that sweet XDR display, and then cough out thousand to repair.

I've a friend that works as a planner for one of the companies in Apple's supply chain. She just got sent to Germany to help with the planning of the chips. Apparently the Germans way of doing things by the book has its share of problems too, being that they cannot be flexible when problems like this happen.

My order was supposed to be delivered on the 8-15th. Today [9th], finally it's moved to "Preparing to ship". I'm definitely in the 15th arrival team.

Thanks for reply. Both istat menu and tg pro gives me reading for 10 core which is weird(its not the same temp each on idle). But cinebench/geekbench benchmark is on par with 8 core version

hi guys, how the battery life so far? Mine cant go past 10 hours with my moderate usage. while it is impressive compare to previous windows laptop, I believe i can get more. How about you guys?
