It depends on the glider. Sexual maturity can occur as early as 3 months. Some male gliders have a very slight bald patch whilst some are very big and obvious. But the bald spot will usually become obvious when they sexually mature.

On average, they sexually mature at 7 months onwards. At this time, the bald spot is usually very obvious already.

Some also depends on the glider itself. Some can see little bald spot as early as 4-5 months.

. . . . That's a virtually hairless glider. O.o

Though they're cute, it may be a symptom or a sign of an underlying problem.

Gimme a call, it needs to be looked at by a vet.

yups..they are so young. i brought them eveywhere i go. and i ignore their crabbing. meaning to say, if they do crab, i stroke them gently and pick them up and cuddle them. they wud calm down and wud instantly sleep on me.
i guess that's how they got so 'manja' with me. even lil, cheekoo wud 'kejar2' to get onto me.

but as reanne say, im still worried about him not having fur like joeys normally do.

I'd suggest go for the angle plate too! Easier to get your measurements correct and joints will be neater. Also think of a way to collect all the pee and poo at the bottom. A sliding tray, i.e. those used in normal pet cages would be an ideal design to work on.

Good luck with your project and keep us posted silverwineus! wink.gif

Thanks for your encouragement..

OK, i will try to modify the drawing using the angle plate once i find time to do so and let me know will that be better,OK?

Despite everything, i do agree with you that cheekoo has baldness on its body..
Do you or anybody knows what kind of underlying symptom this is? Is there a cure?
Anyway, CheeKoo and KooChee look bigger now as compared the pix some time ago, when you first bought them.
You are doing a good job, spel'it.

I'm totally speechless!

I know there's nothing I can do about this except that I pray to god to help this poor glider through his suffering and may it end very soon..... sad.gif

I do hope this story/case will open up some eyes in here about why we are too passionate about glider care and welfare... We are not mean, not rude, not trying to act like we know, but just trying our very best because we care too deeply for these little creatures...

It's breaking my heart terribly and I'm holding my tears away...

Hi KP
I have sent you an email regarding the good's that Hun required from Australia - which have now been given to a friend & he has arrived back to Malaysia. Would you be kind enough to reply to the note I sent. His departure was a bit sudden so I had no chance to include branches in the box.

Hissing when poo or pee?

Could be having difficulties to do their biz... If prolonged and not treated correctly, could lead/be UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)

I can't remember correctly the home remedy, I think it's apple juice... Will check with Hun or Reanne to be sure...

Yups, Cheekoo is quite bald. Worrying too. Will get him n Koochee for a vet checkup when im in KL.
Dun think here the vets are familiar with exotic animals like suggies.

He's approximately (using's KP word, hehe) 6-7 weeks OOP.
But i guess he was separated from his mother far too young. And we didnt know it before. Until i consulted KP.

Well, a few websites on the net sure is misleading...hmmm....they said, the younger the better.
Luckily we bump into this forum tho AFTER we bought them. So, im trying to give the best that i can and do damage control as much as i can. Bcoz i do love them so so much already.
