Finally did clean install. Weirdly it installed Windows 11 Home for me. I was using activated legit Windows 10 Pro. Maybe because my laptop originally came with win10 home I use upgrade Pro key frm win 8.1? Anyway I tried use my key still home. So I went to Microsoft Store it shows nothing to purchase I can just install Windows 11 Pro upgrade. Which did on that page congrats 11 Pro on a new popup some error. Restart system now it's showing correct activated Windows 11 Pro

But there is a problem it can't use my fingerprint scanner says can't find any compatible fingerprint scanner. Damn seems I might not be only one facing such issue base on googling.

Edit: Manage to fix fingerprint by finding old 2019 driver that makes it detect.

DirectX is bundle inside Windows long ago, no installation required.

To support which version of DirectX depends on your GPU (Graphics Processor Unit, Graphics Card).
DirectX had nothing to do with what CPU you have.

If your GPU only support up to DirectX 11, then they is no way you could get DirectX 12 beside changing to newer graphics card.
If it is laptop, then you need to deal with it and no hope. They do have external Graphics Card for laptop but that required USB-C and freaking expensive.

In summary if the game you play required minimum DirectX 12 and your GPU only support up to DirectX 11 then you can't play that game.

Even DirectX 12 also got two version, DirectX 12 and DirectX 12 Ultimate. The later DirectX 12 Ultimate only support Nvidia GeForce RTX 20 & 30 series and also AMD Radeon RX 6000 series.

From your comment, you are using Nvidia GeForce GTX 960, this card is support DirectX 12 but not DirectX 12 Ultimate.
Make sure install latest GPU driver from Nvidia site which is version 496.13

That would be a nifty way to adjust volume. What I want the most is way to pause media playback using hotkey. Now have to remap a button just for pause.

My new PC is also well prepared for new windows, pc health checks all pass.

Since windows update didn't show anything new, I just wait for the signal to come, no hurry to hop on buggy windows.

I believe for Windows 11, you unable to update not compatible device if you want to update from Windows Update.

Clean install or update from MS site installer is the only way.

If not mistaken, if not compatible device will not receive Windows Update once they update to Windows 11.
