As someone who uses Handbrake and Blender regularly, the e-cores haven't been useless at all.
To get better all core productivity on the AMD side you need to go up to the 7900X/7950X (expensive af). Intel's current overall best bang for buck champion in everything, the 13600KF, obliterates the whole AMD stack in all core productivity workloads other than those two AMD CPUs.
As a gamer, yes, i wish they'd stuff more P-cores, but 8, hell 6 (as seen in the 13600K beating the 12900K in gaming with 2 less P Cores), is still enough for games.
Its product stagnation, Intel been on 8Pcores since 9th gen so coming to Arrowlake is ady 6 generations this remain the same. Very much like previous 4C/8T era. Ecores useful in certain apps but its functionality is limited. Would you prefer 8Pcore + 10Ecore or 10Pcore + 8Ecore?
Somemore Pcores has HT so thread count is double vs Ecores.
AMD is also guilty to a lesser extend as their trumped 7800X3D has absolutely NO core count improvement over 5800X3D, but at least they have 7900X3D & 7950X3D in higher range.
Is Intel generation 11 laptop still worthy for purchase? For the usage of work and light gaming for next few years
Not sure about other laptop, but for a Dell 14in Latitude, the fans keep spinning up for whenever you are doing any simple task. That is my experience with it.

Yes, still consider whether to buy dell 3420 latitude because they is discount deal for staff. But will the generation 11 processor laptop obsolete soon?

Pre12th gen CPU computers might not be such a bad idea after all, especially if you can keep the temps in check;
So far only seen one reviewer has spoken about this very unique but perhaps not too uncommon, problem.

u re better off with at least a 12th gen inside. Betcha they will have discounted those older 12th gen models too.

Obsoletion is not such a big issue in my opinion if what you are doing with the laptop is normal daily office work stuff. It is more of the 11 gen processor runs really hot to get those performance. I would say those 12gen and above should be much better in terms of performance vs the temps and fan noise for the dell latitude.
Intel ‘Downfall’: Severe flaw in billions of CPUs leaks passwords and much more
Both consumer and server processors from Intel show the gap. For consumers, all PCs or laptops with Intel Core processors of the 6th “Skylake” generation up to and including the 11th-gen “Tiger Lake” chips contain the vulnerability.
Intel’s newer 12th-gen and 13th-gen Core processors are not affected.

Saw this late, but yes!
My Core i5 13600K (6p/4e/20t) is able to match my Ryzen 9 5900X (12c/24t), and the 13600K costs less and has IGP for Intel QSV which is very handy for productivity.
