Once you go 2K (which is where 4070 should be played) there is negligible difference between 9th & 13th gens. To me unsurprising really cuz gaming requirement hasnt gone past the need for 8 cores CPU yet so that 9700K still has a lot of room to play perhaps in another year or so when games recommended spec is 8 Pcores and thats when the additional Ecores in 12 & 13 gen will help it pull ahead.

More details on MeteorLake revealed and as I expected it is an underwhelming successor to RPL refresh

user posted image

Clearly this will always be up to i5 level family as its limited to 6Pcores. For context its kinda like Broadwell gen family, if anyone remembers it, as the pariah inbetween Haswell & Skylake.

As I have mentioned b4 the true successor is ArrowLake (ARL), going back up to a proper 8 Pcores.

Will still be an interesting CPU to compare to something like the 13600K with its similar 6P+8E config.

Can make a direct IPC comparison by normalizing clocks between the 2 and benching them when it releases.

Perhaps so, but as a gaming CPU not so much. If this is the roadmap for Intel, as long as AMD doesnt stuff their 8800X/8800X3D launch it will wallop the MTL generation.

Not a single consumer asked them to change it.

This must mean a certain fruit named company threatened intel with a lawsuit.

The more bombastic the name is, the lesser real world performance it can actually do.

I don't think anyone is selling since other brands (eg. Thermalright) are so cheap and performance are similar as tested by Gamers Nexus previously. I use Thermalright for my both 13900K & 13700K, can get dirt cheap, around RM30.
