when to check speed thru wifi this moorning , why can only get 48mbps only and my router is Dir 842 d link . change to 5 GHz also slightly better 50 plus ...
1. Connect a laptop or desktop directly to the router using an Ethernet cable to make sure you are definitely getting 300Mb/s. If yes, then proceed with the next 2 steps
2. When using above 50Mb/s, always use 5GHz, never 2.4GHz
3. Set your 5GHz bandwidth to 80MHz. Not 20, not 40, not auto, not 20/40/80. Not sure if the DIR-842 allows you to set it to 80MHz only or not. If not, then time to dump it and get a better router such as the ASUS RT-AX56U

This is where you can find it, don't ask me how to access your router configuration, I don't have time to spoon-feed you with every detail. Google it yourself

Might be power adapter problem? If u have spare lying around from other devices, but with same voltage and connector jack, u can try 1st.
*
Is not adapter. The model itself does have this problem since it came out. Its either firmware or the hardware itself. Those who are using this router does experience the same issue even from overseas countries.

Interesting speedtest results
I had a cable problem, making my 100 Mbps Unifi package NTE to router 100 Mbps, router to desktop was 1 Gbps
Speedtest would start at about 60 Mbps and slowly climb to about 88 Mbps during the test
I changed the cable. Now Speedtest starts at 150 Mbps+ and slows to about 106 Mbps during the test as the package rate limiter kicks in.

This means a big difference for opening big web pages, not much for big file transfers

They actually listened to customer complain about their routing. Interesting.

Are you a biz line subscriber?

Has the Unifi routing been fixed already?

I am seeing improved connection to EU server since yesterday. Even during peak time, it was not as bad as this past few weeks.

But then again I am only using a certain IP which I maintain by not switching off my modem/router. I "found" a good IP since abput 1 week ago and then I never switched off my router/modem. It was still bad during peak hours but the best of the lot......

The real test is whether other IPs also have returned to "normal".

Unifi 100Mbps normally you get speed around 106Mbps is very normal.

Has been happening for a while. Called and complained but not sure if there's any action taken. Seems slightly better than a few weeks ago for me.

On another note, anyone has any idea what we can request for if we upgrade our package? My place just upgraded to FTTH and I'm thinking of taking the 300Mbps package. Any perpetual discounts that we might be able to get? I got that when I transferred from my old place, then realised that this place only had VSDL, so I downgraded to 30Mbps. Now there is fibre, so will be upgrading again.

On the bad routing to AWS period, usually had a lot of packet loss during this hour.

This is tonight result. I won't mind of latency goes higher a little bit than usual 270ms but at least lowest packet loss as much as possible.
