Your mobo only up to Gen3 x4. Primary boot OS drive? If want just ngam, Adata SX8200Pro or Crucial P3 Plus. If want overkill can go for Gen4 x4 SSD with DRAM ie P5 Plus, S70 Blade. |

shit happened to some of my transcend mte220s 2tb. they kept showing bad sectors. since data are backed up regularly, nothing was lost.
here is the interesting part: after i did a diskpart > clean all to them, error messages that report bad sectors stopped, and there is no more corrupted files. their lifespan is still 100% according to crystal diskinfo. so, if your ssds are working, but keep reporting bad sector errors, it's good to try diskpart > clean all (or secure erase) to see if it can bring them back to normal haha |

QUOTE(horns @ Apr 17 2025, 12:05 AM) shit happened to some of my transcend mte220s 2tb. they kept showing bad sectors. since data are backed up regularly, nothing was lost. If your being using, no way it can go back to '100%' thats physically not possible. Its likely your SSD really is failing but doing a diskwipe just resets its status but the physical damage is still there. Sooner than later the bad sectors will pop up again or worse starts to corrupt your data and sudden death w/o warning cuz you reseted its error reporting.here is the interesting part: after i did a diskpart > clean all to them, error messages that report bad sectors stopped, and there is no more corrupted files. their lifespan is still 100% according to crystal diskinfo. so, if your ssds are working, but keep reporting bad sector errors, it's good to try diskpart > clean all (or secure erase) to see if it can bring them back to normal haha Imho its time to replace them. (Quite surprised it can fail so soon as advertised it has skyhigh MTBF & TBW, maybe its the controller thats dying or something). |
